Sometimes it's a good idea to just stare you in the face, especially when you're looking at a McDonald's menu.
I don't know if the fast food giant actually got this idea from staring at their menu, but their latest weapon in the "Chicken Sandwich Wars" is actually a variation on a theme.
Meet “The Chicken Big Mac,” if indeed that's what they want to call it.
While the recipe is for the 'Big Mac', and feel free to sing along: "Two beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun." Chicken Big Mac, if that's what they call it, it must beaccording to the New York Post, two tempura chicken patties, pickles, shredded lettuce and American cheese.
According to Insiderthe burger was first launched in Australia in 2017 and was such a success in Britain that they had to pull it from the shelves after just ten days due to high demand.
“Chicken remains a key opportunity for us,” McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski said in a Q2 earnings call. "We already have some big global shares in our McNuggets and the McChicken, but we also have some shares in McCrispy and McSpicy that we think we can do more with globally. So that will be a priority area."
McDonald's plans to roll out the chicken version of the Big Mac for a limited time at select locations in Miami later this month. It seems like it's only a matter of time before it comes to New Jersey.
