Microsoft Word has a built-in feature to restore a toolbar to its original configuration. To do this, follow the relevant instructions below.

Word 2007 to Windows

  1. Right click onQuick Access Toolbarand selectCustomizing the Quick Access Toolbar....
  2. Make sure the drop-down menu under "Customize the Quick Access Toolbar:" is set to OnFor all documents (default).
  3. Clickresetunder the right column and then clickOkay.

Word 2003 and earlier for Windows

  1. VanToolsmenu, selectTo adjust....
  2. click onToolbarstab and then select the toolbar you want to restore. click onReset...knob.
  3. Select in the window that appearsNormalto apply this to all documents, or select the specific document you are working on. Then clickOkay.
  4. I thinkTo adjustwindow, clickClose toknob.

Word for Mac OS and Mac OS

  1. VanToolsmenu, selectTo adjust....
  2. ClickToolbarsand highlight the toolbar you want to restore in the list on the left side of the window.
