What speed goal should I aim for?
Although speed is measured objectively, the assessment is much more subjective. What is a good goal to aim for? It's hard to say. Even the scientific literature is divided on this.
The right speed goal depends on your age and your end goal. Do you just want to be more efficient at writing emails, or are you planning to participate in international competitions?

Intermediate goal
Once you set your end goal, Typing Pal uses this to calculate intermediate goals for each of the training activities belowLearningthe tab. These intermediate goals are adapted to the difficulty of the text and its relative position in the training plan.
For example, if the end goal is set to 65 words per minute, the speed goal for the first exercise is set to 33 words per minute. Achieving this reasonable goal with total accuracy is a predictor of the ultimate success of the training program.
Speed evaluation
The writing speed recorded during exercises or tests at the end of each step belowLearningtab is useful for formative assessment. With this data you can, for example, compare the performance of students during their education.
For a summative evaluation, we recommend that you refer to the final tests below insteadLearningtab, or to the texts belowProgresstab, because the texts used in these activities better reflect the real context. Filter the statistics by selecting this activity type. This will provide more accurate results regarding the level of performance achieved.
Finally, to evaluate progress, we recommend that you compare the initial test result with the final test result. Because the two tests are exactly the same, you get a clear indication of progress.
