How to play Spelling Bee

  • Words must contain the middle letter.

  • Words must contain at least four letters.

  • Letters can be used more than once.

  • Our glossary does not contain words that are offensive, unclear, hyphenated or proper nouns.

  • Four-letter words are worth one point each.

  • Longer words earn one point per word on the letter. A word of six letters is worth six points.

  • Each puzzle contains at least one "pangram", in which each letter is used at least once. A pangram is worth seven extra points.

2LL — Two-letter list: the number of accepted words that begin with the specified two letters.

BINGO— All seven letters in the puzzle are used to start at least one word in the vocabulary.

Pangram— A word that uses all seven letters at least once. Some puzzles contain more than one pangram. A pangram is worth seven extra points.

Perfect Pangram— A pangram in which each letter is used only once, e.g. a pangram of seven letters.

GN4L— Genius, #4 letters: You reached Genius level without any four-letter words. Although we might want to say four-letter words while trying to get to Genius without them.

GN4L OTN— Genius, No. 4 letters, on the nose: You scored exactly the number of points to reach Genius without using four-letter words.

BNP— Genius, no pangram(s): You reached Genius without finding a pangram.

Hivemind — The name of the Spelling Bee community.

QB- Queen Bee, the highest possible score in a given puzzle and an Easter egg level in the game. You have found all possible words in the puzzle.
