The World Visit system allows you to travel freely between the worlds of a given logical data center.(*1)
The world your character was created on is called their "homeworld." The world visit system allows you to temporarily visit other worlds while continuing to live on your home world. Some restrictions apply when visiting other worlds, but you can still party with friends, purchase items, and otherwise enjoy the gameplay as you would in your home world.

Visit other worlds
1Selecteer "Visit Another World Server" uit aetheryte in Limsa Lominsa, Ul'dah of Gridania.
This option is only available from the central etheryte, not from Aethernet shards.
2Select the world you want to visit.
A list of worlds can be found at each data centerher.
* Your home world and current world are shown in this menu.
*Only worlds you can visit are shown.
3Respond to the confirmation window to submit your request.
Select "OK" to continue.
*In some cases you may have to wait until the transfer has been processed. If this is the case, a window will appear informing you of the expected time to completion and your position in the queue.
4Downloading starts automatically.
When the World Visit window appears, you will automatically be transferred to your destination world.
* Once this window appears, the transfer cannot be canceled.
5Your character appears in the destination world.
Important
You may only visit Worlds within the same logical data center.

To visit Worlds in another logical data center, useTraveling to data centerssystem.
While they wait for transfer, certain features will be unavailable.
Depending on the traffic in the target world, it may take several minutes to complete the transfer. The following functions cannot be used during this period:
Not available while you wait
・Go to other areas or use Ethernets
・ Completion of assignments
Once a transfer begins, it cannot be canceled.
After the World Visit window appears, you cannot cancel the transfer. If you wish to remain in the world from which you are transferring, wait until the transfer is complete and use the World Visit System to return when you arrive at your destination.

- A: To return to your home world, use the World Visit System.
※If you log out of another world, please note that you will automatically return to your home world if you do not log back in within 30 days. Depending on when you last logged out, you may be bounced if more than 30 days have passed. - Question: Is there a limit to how long I can visit another world?
- A: Such limits do not exist.
- Question: If I am given a duty while visiting another world, where will my character be sent when the duty is over?
- A: Your character returns to the world you visit.
- Question: What happens if I log out while visiting another world?
- A: You will return to that world when you log in again.
- Question: Can I join a party while waiting to visit another world?
- A: You can only join a cross-world party if you choose a destination world or wait to visit another world.
* Parties around the world can be formed via the party finder or by forming a party directly with another player from another world.

A character visiting the same logical data center from another world is marked as one characterTo walk, which will be included in their display name.
Limits
Although most of the game's features can be used while visiting another world, there are certain limitations.

Using the FINAL FANTASY XIV Companion App while visiting a world
FINAL FANTASY XIV Companion-appcan still be used to organize your inventory and sell items at the market while your character uses the World Visit system. However, there are some limitations.
