Parker

This 34-acre property features animals, an antique carousel, a ranch exhibit and a children's area.

Lived in Carlsbad, NM and never knew there was a zoo near us. For a family of five, tickets were less than $30. From watching the animals to riding the Mary-Go-Round, it was a great way to spend our day. The staff was friendly and the zoo was clean. Will definitely come back soon. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to get away for a day!

Taylor Gonzalez - Google Review

Animals are all happy in this zoo! Great place to take your family and it's free!!

Shawn McNulty – Google Review

Great space for family fun and wildlife interactions. The zoo has free-roaming peaco*cks that are not afraid of humans. Animals from small reptiles to large Texas Longhorns call this place home. The flowing paths make it easy to see everything the zoo and park have to offer.

Brieanna Camper — Google Review

Great time here with the family. There is not much variety of animals, but for a small town it is sufficient. It's interesting and great for kids. There is a snack bar and it is incredibly affordable. It's great that they don't charge you an arm and a leg for a drink. Especially in the hot sun!!!!! Nicely maintained and clean in the cages of the animals. Loved our visit!!!

Sarah Olvera - Google Review

They have quite a number of animals. Some, like the moose, and some birds respond to you or come to you. I visited in winter so some things were offline and could only hear one bear because it's time for them. The only common animal was a raven and they are cool to see here because you never get close to any wild animals. They are huge. It was quite clean inside and outside the animal enclosures. It wouldn't be bad to see what it's like in high season. Outside rush hour it is also good because it is not too busy, it is cool and you can take your time. This zoo is free to visit. Consider leaving a donation in one of the containers. Beware of the wandering band of peaco*cks. They are not good. I just know they're up to something...

Tech Sword - Google Review

If I couldn't leave any stars, I would. This zoo is not as good as the reviews say. And definitely not worth the 20$, what a waste. Half of the animals are sleeping or dead, you honestly don't know. I wish I could get a refund. the train did not run and the mary go round only ran when it suited them.. the man was not nice either, poor customer service. They should let people know that their zoo is not open and they should probably just close, such a big disappointment and people shouldn't go here, they would be wasting their money.

Bretagne Amlin — Google Review

An important part of our history. There is an open silo up ahead, you can't get in, but I used my Autel Evo 2 pro to take a few photos.

Joseph K. George - Google Review

Very small zoo and underfunded, which I don't blame them because what they do for these animals is such kindness. My two children still had such a great time walking through this very attractive zoo. Small gifts/souvenirs were sold on the front of the cards. The zoo is being worked on and that is nice to see. I can't wait to see the changes, the zoo definitely deserves it.

Brianna Harvey — Google review

It was winter and a bit windy so the animals were not very active, most of them were eating or sleeping, buffalo, elk and some birds of prey, I'm sure they are more active in spring :) the staff was very nice and answered all my questions 😀

Bill Kinloch - Google Review

My fiance and I took our daughter here for a weekend and she loved seeing the animals. I think it's great that it's also free for everyone!

Atheena Possible — Google Anmeldelse

I visited on June 14, 2023. I wanted to go somewhere and noticed that the city has a zoo. There were reviews everywhere about the cost. It was free for me today. There aren't many animals, but it was fun and free. The carousel and train mentioned in other reviews do not run. The park next to the zoo has some play structures. Nice overall small city zoo.

Museum

The Roswell International UFO Museum and Research Center features exhibits on the famous 1947 Roswell UFO incident and alien-themed art. The museum features extensive exhibit panels with witness statements, newspaper clippings and essays detailing the timeline of the incident and the alleged cover-up. For UFO enthusiasts, the library has an impressive collection of materials related to extraterrestrial sightings. In addition, homemade models and gory mock-ups provide a lighter touch for skeptical or curious visitors.

As a space nerd, I absolutely loved this place! So much information, not just from Roswell, but from around the world! Lots of artifacts and news articles and of course even some of the nerdy green men around. You can spend 15 minutes here if you're just there to see what's there, or hours if you want to read everything, because there's a lot of information. The space nerd in me loved my time here!

Bethany Renea - Google Review

This place is great! It was easy to get in (no more than a few minutes to get in) and affordable (less than $10 I think). Also a lot of information about Roswell and other incidents, including people involved, where they took place, what happened, explanations, impact on the entertainment industry (movies, TV), cool artwork inspired by movies or aliens in general, a few games to to play outside the gift shop etc. The gift shop has a great selection of items such as t-shirts, stress coasters (like a stress ball in the shape of a flying saucer), bouncy balls, shot glasses, etc. It took me forever to get some out to choose haha. And if you have a lot of time, they have a library full of books and records (I haven't looked at them too much, but if you like aliens or Roswell they might be worth checking out!

M CC — Google Review

Went in skeptical and left a believer. This museum is very well organized with news articles, historical artifacts and exhibits that complement each other with just enough verifiable information to inspire the visitor to want to know more. The staff is friendly, the museum is very family and dog friendly. It is truly a unique and worthwhile place to visit.

Bina P — Google review

We are retired and travel full time. We visit a lot of museums in the US. The International UFO Museum and Research Center and Gift Shop was a lower quality museum experience with small fonts on small posters that contained far too much information about each one in the museum. Guests having to stay close together to catch a glimpse of what they are saying is not what a museum should be. We can't imagine having to entertain children here for a longer period of time. The film room and light/sound/video room were minimally informative. However, the gift shop offered some nice trinkets and treasures, bringing our rating from one to two.

Theresa E — Google review

We really enjoyed our visit! Lots of quirky memorabilia, information and art. A completely safe Roswell experience. We also found all kinds of fun things to send to family and friends in the gift shop. It's not too big, an easy, level walk through the exhibits with plenty of room to distance yourself from other guests and when we went (a Wednesday in mid-October) parking was easy to find.

SofaKingCrafty — Google Review

I was so excited to go and I was not disappointed. I absolutely loved the library room, which contained so much information from witnesses to the 1947 crash. Very cool to read them all. The museum was also interesting with lots of information about some famous abductees, implants, etc. and some fun, quirky things too. I would definitely recommend this place. Go when you have enough time, there is a lot to see and read.

Susan Jo - Google Review

Not expensive to get into and bigger than I expected. Filled with many artifacts, items and memorabilia from alien themed movies/shows. They had a library full of books for you to enjoy. They also had movies and information you could look through. The interactive exhibits were neat. The gift shop was nice. Worth spending an hour or 2 watching...

Alexis Joseph (Jas) — Google review

Let's be honest: if the UAP or UFO stuff has intrigued you at all lately, this is the place to go. And the price includes parking and a wristband to get back in after you've explored the city - if only to use the clean restrooms - most gift shops don't have restrooms for you to use. And that is also very nice, the content is interesting. Such as the original national news radio broadcast that covered the event. Look carefully at the buttons you can press. This was located near the old-fashioned radio in the first room. We both enjoyed it immensely. And we came here because it was on the way to our Carlsbad Caverns adventure... and we're certainly glad we stopped. A beautiful city and a wonderful place Val

Val Ge - Google Review

I'm not sure what other people expected to see, but this is exactly what my husband and I expected. It's a fun place to learn the timeline of events following the announcement of the Roswell UFO crash. The exhibits provide detailed information about the time of the crash, those involved and the circ*mstances surrounding the cover-up. There is a lot of reading going on and it would be helpful if the information were expanded so more people could read it at once. Other than that, the exhibits are fun.

Michele - Google Review

We had a wonderful experience visiting the museum. The information is interesting enough to keep our six year old son occupied for almost an hour and a half. He watched almost every video and asked questions about aliens. We learned the discovery and history with him.

PinHsuan Huang (Foodie life) — Google-melding

I'm not necessarily a foreign believer, but this place is great! It's much bigger than I ever expected. It has a great walking tour of the museum area that tells the story of alien events in Roswell, alien exhibits, the history of alien sightings around the world and a fair amount of alien art. It also has a fairly large library of alien-related documents, books and cassette recordings, all of which are well organized and that customers can browse through freely. It would be an excellent place to visit for anyone studying foreign history. Finally, the gift show is also huge and includes all the alien toys, knickknacks and clothing you could ever want.

Adam Rosenthal — Google review

Although I really enjoyed the museum and the entrance fee was very low, I was a little disappointed. It seemed to be a bit too serious, to be honest I was hoping for something a bit more hokey. If they were trying to be more serious I thought there would be a lot more about all the alien encounters, but it focused on the ones near Rosewell. Nor was there any mention of the recent US military admission that they had captured video footage and encountered aircraft they could not identify and that these aircraft had capabilities beyond known technology. All in all it was a good way to spend an hour or so. It's probably best to do this in the middle of the day, when it's too hot outside for anything else. The gift shop was very nice and not expensive.

Anthony Smith - Google Review

Only had time to check out the gift shop, which offered a variety of UFO souvenirs. Pet friendly. Took one star because they only had one register out of 3 (the other two were unavailable) and unfortunately we waited in line for more than 30 minutes. Next time I would like to do the museum portion, it seemed reasonably priced at $7 for adults and $4 or children 15 and under.

Mary Zeek - Google Review

Our families liked this interesting museum. The kids loved the interactive spaceship experience with the loudest speakers on the block. They also liked the free computer games. It was interesting to read some stories from meetings and experiences. We wish we could have spent more time here, but with six kids in total we had to get in and out. We liked the gift shop and the options were good, but unfortunately our 5 year old picked up a snow globe and dropped it. It was nice that the gift shop didn't charge us, but they watched us like a hawk while we were in the gift shop and went after our families, which is why I deducted a star. I understand following us, but talking to the older kids about whether they should pick something up seemed inappropriate since our older kids weren't dropping anything. It bothered me and I couldn't wait to get out of the gift shop. Anyway it's a fun place but be careful with kids grabbing their hands lol.

Crystal K. — Google review

Lots to see here. Lots of conspiracy stories to open your mind. A huge library, they now have an Alien crash simulator which is amazing. Tons of alien props and free entry too. You'll also see lots of news clippings. The research library alone is worth the trip. 1947 Roswell had a space crash. Do you want to leave a believer behind?

Manny Quacioua — Google review

I have always wanted to visit Roswell and absolutely love this museum. The research library was packed with information - walls full of artwork - amazing exhibits and eyewitness accounts/timelines of what happened here could have taken days to sort out at the very least! I was only there a few hours. Oh, I think okay 👍

Vicki Runyan — Google Review

Out of order Technical problems And you won't know until you try to go to the cinema and/or virtual reality room. Tickets should have been half price or refunded but the staff looked cheap so many warned those entering. Shot a wad of cash and twenty minutes. Would give zero stars if the app got that rating. when the movie starts. She said we are having technical problems today. I suggested they put a sign on the door because there were a lot of people waiting for the movie. The three of them looked at each other, as if maybe I should do that. We went through the other screens you could google, excited when we reached the reality room, which - guess what? Was closed. At least there was a sign on that door. We went to the gift shop for the second time and thought we might get a little more entertainment than twenty minutes. Went to the research library twice. Filled with books and another introvert behind the counter trying to hide in a red egg blue cute jacket that didn't appeal to any of the three of us during the two visits to the library. Selling tickets without mentioning that the place's two biggest attractions are closed and not even bothering to put a sign on the door of one that isn't working is lame. After our half visit, and I suggested that one of those who did nothing, the front desk people put an out of order sign on the out of order presentation area, I went back to check. The light in the room is still on, no sign. Of course, the lights weren't on for three employees in the "pay now" area either. The light also did not come on at the inward-facing downer in the examination room. We laughed when two groups in the gift shop said that the two main attractions of the place were almost about to hear the larger employee say "well, we don't know when something will break" to some in their group who asked. and indifferent staff. Don't make this a destination, and if you pass by, enjoy one of the cute antique shops or the cute McDonald's. We should have gotten a refund. The guy at the front desk was asked by several people and said something like "huh". I posted two photos for Dunkin Donuts and McDonalds where you can take nice photos. The rest of the photos are of an old and dilapidated museum, which I think you should skip. Just Google and read about the cool stuff online and save some money!

Visitor center

I loved the visitors center. The 2 ladies there were very helpful and super friendly. They asked me a lot of questions. I bought some great stuff there and asked about the next festival in July that I'm also planning to visit, and they answered so many questions.

Veronica Montes — Google review

Driving through Roswell, I had to stop by the Roswell Visitors Center. A young lady and a young man manned the counter. Knowledgeable, friendly and hospitable, the young lady is an asset to her city and a true ambassador for its citizens. Kudos to the young man for being new to the job yet friendly and enthusiastic.

Travel often - Google review

The ladies in the welcome center are out of this world! They had great suggestions and even took us to the puppy friendly establishments that Roswell has so much to offer, from museums, restaurants, coffee shops, gift shops and of course the alien themed attractions. We tried to get to the crash site twice, but be warned: there is a locked gate on one side and a gang of cows blocking the road on the other. Surprisingly, the slab is close to the crash site instead of the gate. We didn't do it for that, but we appreciated the beauty and historical value. Oh! And it's about an hour and a half drive northwest to the accident site. Be prepared to have no phone signal if you want to drive past a closed gate.

Mel — Google review

Very nice welcome center with a great selection of souvenirs. The lady at the desk was very informative and friendly. Probably the most knowledgeable I have encountered at a visitor center in any state. She was well aware of closures due to covid and pointed out many free attractions in and around the city as well as individual prizes for those that weren't. She takes great pride in her work and it really shows. Best of all, we got free souvenir photos and lip balm! She was also very informative about the upcoming festival in July.

Amy - Google Review

Stopped here on the way into town. You can pick up a map and the friendly staff will provide you with highlights and tips about the city. There is also a photo opportunity with some cute aliens. There are some merchandise for sale and my favorite, the smooshed penny machine. For 51 cents you can have one of 3 or 4 images embossed on a penny. There are also bathrooms and it is pet friendly.

Roberta Peek - Google Review

Such a neat place! Everyone was friendly! We took a picture with the aliens. They gave us a printed and digital copy.

Beverly Smith — Google Review

The visitor center is a lovely little place with a free photo booth (which both prints a photo and sends you an email if you enter your address) and helpful and enthusiastic staff. I highly recommend this as the first stop on your trip to Roswell as they have helpful maps and good parking.

Andrew Metzger - Google Review

The ladies at the desk were very warm, helpful and all around great people. We made this our first stop of the day and highly recommend it

Rex Wall — Google review

I did Star Trek cross country and got lost in space here at Roswell. It was a unique experience and I would definitely return here to rekindle or rekindle the relationship with my ancestors from Alpha Centauri.

David Wilson - Google Review

Everyone must stop at the visitor center first. Lots of information and the staff was very knowledgeable. They will take your photo for free with two friendly foreigners and email it to you. 😊

Devon Edgmon — Google review

A bit cheesy, but worth the stop. We had to visit this eclectic place again. The workers were friendly and helpful both times, offering a map of the area and taking a free photo with the cute *aliens*, complete with a UFO backdrop. Souvenirs such as T-shirts, magnets, postcards and stickers can be purchased at reasonable prices, but there are no entrance fees. Has clean bathrooms, just ask one of the staff to unlock. It won't take long for you to visit and you'll probably leave with a smile on your face just like us.

Sandy Lynch — Google review

This was a very nice tribute to the alien 👽 culture around Roswell. It's a very benign take on legend or fact, depending on your personal opinion. Kudos to the young staff who were so accommodating. They took cool photos with "aliens" present and emailed them to us and printed a paper copy on the spot. Thanks guys, you were great. By the way, Roswell was much bigger and more interesting than I expected. We wished we had more time to explore. 👍

Robert Lowell - Google Review

Super friendly, hospitable staff. Many brochures, pamphlets and maps available. Pet friendly is always a bonus.

Marissa Gulick - Google Review

Very helpful staff, very knowledgeable not only about the incident that made Roswell famous, but also about what Roswell was doing in the city before all the media attention. Recommended Farley's restaurant, which was an excellent recommendation, great food for super cheap. Also told me where to get good souvenirs and had some great recommendations for camping. 👏👏👏

Vineyard

Founded in 2004 by Paul and Cindy Ragsdale, Pecos Flavors Winery + Bistro is a popular spot in Roswell. The winery offers a range of local wines, such as Compadres, and has a tasting room conveniently located downtown. In addition to their wine selection, the bistro serves delicious meals in an indoor-outdoor setting with live music. The charming space features a bar, wine bar, dining room and outdoor terrace.

A really good and fun experience! All food and wine were good. The service was fantastic. Enjoy the wine fights and live music. Strongly recommended!

Scott C - Google Review

Wow. This was such a cool find. We had their wine flights. I loved all the varieties I chose, all the Pecos flavors. My favorite was the blush, my husband's was the applause. He had quiche and a salad; I had smoked salmon and capers on a bagel with cream cheese...all the food was delicious. The staff were attentive and friendly. There was also live music. We had a nice afternoon. We will go back before our holiday ends.

Susan Jo - Google Review

We had a great time here! The bartender was great and talked to us about wines and drinks. The food was good too!

Brenda Martin - Google Review

A screw in a sidewall south of Carlsbad while we were on vacation sent us north to Roswell to find a tire that would fit the rims. Pecos Flavors was a random selection and turned out to be a great find in Roswell. The main course of salmon and steak was excellent for the price. The wines come from Arizona. I'm not effusive about local wine production, but they are cheap and drinkable. Walking into the place - it's lively, busy for a Wednesday night and would become a staple for me if I lived here. Well done!

Lloyd Colegrove — Google review

Always a solid place to visit for food or drinks or both! Great selection of beer and the best wine around. Food will never disappoint. Give it a try!

Shannon H — Google review

The atmosphere of this place is great and most of our food choices were prepared and served phenomenally. Encourage their queso with green chiles. It comes with a unique salsa and very tasty tortilla chips. However, I would advise against ordering their burgers. I'm not sure if the meat is too thick or the bun too narrow, but either way it falls apart unusually quickly (photo). I had to remove the very thick tomatoes as they only accelerated the collapse.

Matthew TP — Google review

We hosted a dinner party at Pecos Flavors Winery and the service, quality and atmosphere were fantastic. Our group consisted of mostly people from out of state and they just couldn't stop praising the staff and every detail the staff did to make our dinner special and memorable. I highly recommend Pecos Flavors Winery to anyone looking to host a group, large or small.

Kristen Chappell - Google Review

During a camping trip we found this place online. Didn't expect much, but we were surprised at how fantastic Pecos is. They probably have the best chef in the world here because our meals were perfectly tasted and prepared and we are very familiar with good food. The house wines are delicious. And the wait staff is attentive and friendly. Ari waited on us and we couldn't have been treated better. Apparently the locals know how big Pecos is because it was packed. It gets even better after you've had one of their delicious meals if you stay for the musical entertainment.

Gail Tisius - Google Review

Roswell may be small, but it has some gems in it. This is one of them. Delicious food and wine and sweets for all taste buds. Friendly staff, very cool space with a bar and wine bar on the drinking side, a food bar on the deli side and an outdoor terrace. The food is great! My suggestions are the roast beef, the chicken melt, the chef's salad and a chocolate chip cookie! Good! Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Galactic cab red wines are all great! I bought a bottle of Galactic. Tara is a very cool server and Josh the GM is a really cool guy and the grapes are grown on his land too!

Josh Hockett - Google Review

Come by for lunch. The sandwich and the soup are very good. Since we are at a vineyard, we have to try a glass of moscato. The Moscato is very nice and smooth. There is a small stage for a live band.

Come by for a light meal. We ordered the Charcuterie Board and then decided to add Green Chile Queso and Chips just because. Both were very good. There was live jazz music from Tradd Tidwell the night we were there. Pleasant atmosphere, good service and a relaxing evening. We look forward to going back.

Art Museum

Museums

The Roswell Museum and Art Center is a must-visit destination, offering free admission to an impressive collection of Southwestern art, scientific discoveries, and historical artifacts. Seventeen galleries display work by notable artists such as Georgia O'Keeffe, Peter Hurd and Henriette Wyeth. In addition to the art exhibits, visitors can explore an eclectic mix of Native American, Latin American, and Anglo artifacts that provide insight into the daily lives and spiritual practices of the region's inhabitants.

Beautiful museum with an extensive collection of art and history. Unlike many museums that have too much to read, the Roswell Museum can provide you with a variety of high-quality articles. The rotating work is just as good as the permanent work, and the $10 entrance fee (as an out-of-town tourist) is well worth it. The staff was also very nice and helpful!

Lane Stevenson - Google Review

Great museum, many more things to see than I ever thought. Probably one of the best small town museums I've ever been to, totally worth the entrance fee and an hour to walk around in air conditioning. Huge exhibitions on art, science and history. The rocket room, donated by Goddard's, was a fascinating look at the early days of rocket science in America. All kinds of interesting details about the tools and equipment used. Also a large number of historical artifacts, from ancient New Mexico history, to early weapons and weapons used in various conflicts, even a few suits of armor! The staff were helpful and friendly, the whole place was clean and cool.

Jesse Crowley - Google Review

Wow. The exhibition If You Don't Exist really appealed to me. The interior of the building is complicated and the map is not to scale, but it is a beautiful place and I would honestly rather be a little lost in a museum. There are many different exhibitions on display at the moment, although two of them are currently closed to be reinstalled. I'm writing this before I get to see the planetarium movie, but I'm excited about that too.

Megan R (edited) — Google review

Nice art museum. Also a small section about Dr. Robert Goodard, who did his rocket test here.

William Stiver - Google Review

I honestly had no idea what to expect. I drove straight to the nearest attraction that my hotel sent me to. I had fun, it was a bit like a maze and the lady in the gift shop was great to talk to and lots of fun facts about the different local artists. I enjoy history and they had two interesting history areas, one about the American West and the other about Robert Goddard. Some of the themed installations were very imaginative. I would like to return to the next theme.

Michelle Brown - Google Review

We spent about an hour and a half here. I didn't expect to spend more time on it. Had some interesting displays and the kids found half of them interesting. Had American West history stuff along with rocket history with Robert Goddard and some Native American cultural stuff. Worth checking out if you have an hour or so to spare.

This wasn't the UFO Museum, but it was SO much better. We were so happy to look around because it was such a well built museum. Roswell has such a rich and beautiful history and it was so nice to see it preserved here. Visit this museum if you are in town!

What a wonderful feature for the sweet town of Roswell NM! My husband and I visited on Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed the museum. Ultimately, we also became members: these types of museums deserve support. As part of their collection they have works by Salvador Dali, Georgia O'Keefe and even Rembrandt. Historical artifacts ranging from Native American culture and the work of 1940s rocket scientist Goddard, Spanish explorers and cowboys fill several rooms. We were really entertained and amazed by all the exhibits. The museum shop also offers some very beautiful eclectic original pieces from local and national artists. Don't miss the sculptural pieces made from film celluloid!!!!!!! Please come to Roswell and visit the museum: they also have a planetarium and offer several Second Saturday programs and events for Roswell residents!

Cindy Rhodes — Google review

Great art and we did a show at the planetarium...me and my wife were the only two people there. It was sad because the presentation was great! I can't believe more people don't go! The man who did our viewing was great and very knowledgeable!

Actually two museums in one: an art museum and a history museum. I admit that I don't like modern art, but there are still some that are worth seeing. I am more interested in the historical museum, especially the part about Robert Goddard. Wait at least an hour. I spent 90 minutes here.

Very impressed. It is a combination of an art museum, a New Mexico history museum and a science center with Robert Goddard's workshop recreation. They also have a Georgia O'Keefe painting that is impressive.

I had read a review about this gallery and dropped by while I was in the area. The owner, Juanita, was like that. Ice and likes to share information about her pieces. Large riverside park with several camping, fishing, birding and walking areas along a canyon wall.

Beautiful park. The sites are large, the restrooms were very clean and the price was worth the trip to the valley. The views are spectacular and the hike along the ridge revealed several historic ruins where conquistadors, Native Americans, and other travelers camped during their travels. The river trail was short enough for a quick walk before dinner and the creek had plenty of fish. The pure silence, away from all the traffic noise, was just what I needed after working in the city.

Lynnette Stotz — Google review

This is a great campsite to take children. Downstairs at the end points 22 21 and they have a wonderful playground. There are lots of easy walks, river access (it had rained during the adventure so the river was a bit fast and high for the kids). The campsites have a lot of space between them.

Robert Childs — Google review

This is a great park for camping and hiking. The populated part of the park is the campground, and there are some picnic areas and a nice visitor center. The main draw of this park is camping and hiking. There are no scenic rides. There is a nice little shop where you can get groceries, firewood and a deli in Villanueva itself. Other services (including gas and laundry) are located in Las Vegas, approximately 65 miles away, or in Santa Fe, approximately 65 miles away. Pecos National Historical Park is an excellent place to visit and is approximately 25 miles away. The campsite is excellent and in very good condition. Most rooms are far separated from each other. Generators are allowed until Camping has 30 amps of power if necessary. Depending on the location, water is unsafe. There is water nearby (location 13 was about 30 meters away) that you can connect to. Just make sure you have enough hose and a split valve so you can connect another to the same outlet. The park offers free but weak WiFi. We have Verizon and the signal was sufficient. We were here in December and it was very quiet. I understand from the host that summers are VERY busy. The park closes its gate at 7:30 PM during off-season and 9:30 PM during high season. You cannot enter after the gates are closed as a tire peeler has been installed to prevent unauthorized entry after the park closes. However, you can get out in case of emergency etc. Hiking is great, just make sure climbing stone steps and rocky surfaces is within your capabilities. Beware of rattlesnakes as the park is the perfect environment for them, as is most of the Southwest.

Roger Early - Google Review

The adventures of Mutt and sidekick continue, we spent the weekend here with them and had a great time. Places 1 to 6 are located directly at the main entrance. If you're looking for peace and quiet with little traffic, then you should go to pitch 19 and above. The disadvantages of these rooms are that there is no electricity, first come, first served and no mobile signal. For electricity you have to go to the pitches near the visitor centre, these are by reservation only and unfortunately they are usually booked throughout the season. But as soon as April comes, you can go to the El Cerro campsite. There is no direct access to the river, but the view is fantastic. Still no electricity or water on site, but worth it. Most locations are close to the river and you have good access to hiking trails and fishing opportunities. The fishing is just tough this time of year. The snow has started to melt, there hasn't been a hatch yet and the river itself is very silted up. The trails here are quite uneven and I highly recommend bringing water and good hiking shoes/boots. There are significant elevation changes due to uneven terrain, usually in one file. However, the views are once again worth the trek. The showers are clean, but there is only one. During the busy season, you can schedule a waiting or shower time outside of peak hours. All in all this is an excellent park, the rangers are great, they are proud of their park and it shows.

Clifford Crise - Google Review

This state park is hidden in a canyon next to the Pecos River, near the small town of Villanueva, NM. This beautiful park has pitches with and without electricity/water. Each square also has fireplaces. The clean toilets have showers for the campers, trash cans. There is WiFi in the visitor center. We had two bars of Verizon signal at our location.

Got rid of our rockers - Google Review

This review is about the campsite and from the perspective of a camper who needs internet to work during the day. I want to share some information that may not have been mentioned before about this park; it actually has two campsites. One is on the ground floor, the MAIN campsite with bookable sites on the river. The other is at the top of the hill called EL CERRO CAMPGROUND, which you can reach by turning left onto the road just after the office building. This one is probably newer. Although there are no hookup spots available up there, you will find more open air and a peaceful atmosphere. There are also vault toilets. Personally, I had great AT&T reception on the hill that I didn't have on the ground, and I was able to set up my Starlink under clear skies. The cost was $10 per night for these dry locations. The hillside campsite is particularly pleasant in the spring and fall because there are no hookups, but if you can handle a few hours of warm temperatures during the day, this can still be a viable option in the summer. It's worth noting that these locations operate on a first-come, first-served basis, as they did not list "reservation locations" as ground floor locations. During my visit I noticed a surprising number of empty seats, all of which were very nice. Starlink was easy to set up here and without any obstacles. When I visited the park in June, in the summer, it was quite warm during the day. However, temperatures cooled to pleasant 60s overnight. At the entrance level of the park you will encounter more trees, a more wooded location and the river. The "reservation sites" are all here and you can call or book online, many of which offer water and electricity connections. Unfortunately I had no reception in this area and the presence of trees prevented the use of Starlink, so it is better to make these reservations before arriving at the park. There is a dump station and water available if needed. The area was great with a few trails to explore and on very hot days you can enjoy a swim in the river. It really is a beautiful area.

V Koneal — Google review

Good location! The whole family loved it and our dog didn't want to stay out of the water for long. The only downside was that the bathrooms were closed when we went because everyone was afraid of COVID. Apart from the lockdown it was a great stay.

This travel stop had plenty of parking, a store with all kinds of things, a clean powder room, friendly staff, an adjacent RV park, and lots to see. I rarely buy touristy things but found myself buying from this top. There was something for everyone. It was a nice stop "Route 66".

Blissful Roamer - Google Review

Good place to stop for a toilet break. On the way back to the toilets I had to laugh at the retro fortune telling machine...brings back memories of my childhood when we would drive around the country and stop at these little places to get gas and use the toilet. The toilets here were quite good, clean, spacious and plenty of stalls. Better than the cold rest room a few miles away! I didn't discover anything else here, but the outside has a nice retro facade.

J. Mathew - Google Review

The best thing about this place is the toilets because there are a lot of them and they are clean. It is under construction, especially the diesel part. There's a Phillips 66 here, there's a Conoco here, and a Chevron here, but the Phillips 66 is the only one that works. There are a lot of touristy things inside and you can have a subway if you want. They also have a lot of nice truck parking spots that are very popular and sometimes truck drivers block each other. At least the parking spaces are marked. I hear that there is an employee who always says that there are a lot of truck parking spots once an hour, even though the truck driver says there is some parking and that the parking lot becomes tight when the truck drivers run out of hours. Thanks employee, not really.

The Happy Truck Driver - Google Review

If you are a truck driver, parking is great. Everything is too expensive. The washer and dryer are new but need to be well maintained, do not leak water. I told Charles and he told them to rest. Bathrooms needed attention. On the supermarket side the bathrooms are much better. Diesel is more expensive than other truck stops in the area. Great selection of news articles and snacks.

Joann Yanez - Google Review

Welcome to one of America's largest travel centers, complete with a main shopping department full of glasses, grinders and goodies, as well as 5 other home decor stores, all under one roof, disguised as a truck stop. Mexican rugs and southwestern decorations for every taste (?). Clothes and ice cream. T-shirts and slippers. Wow.. As previous reviewers have said and the billboards on I-40 for the last 5 miles have indicated, the bathrooms are impeccably clean and well designed. However, be sure to respect the fortune teller boxes straight out of Coney Island as you walk down the corridor leading there. There are at least a dozen gas pumps outside under the high metal roof that can even carry an oversized load of giant bulldozers on a flatbed without even going near the roof. The car park is also huge so remember where you parked if it's busy. Having an underground restaurant is a big plus for a travel center far east on I-40, so dive in and tip the wait staff well.

Jim Bergstrom - Google Review

A great gas station and store. Lots of souvenirs and t-shirts and more. I would say they have the cleanest restroom in all of I40. Good prices. Just started a camper site. Highly recommended for a short stop.

Salah Hafied - Google Review

Lots of space, nice gift shop. Most are hospitable. Not much for necessities and a bit pricey. I like the unique displays and fudge/candy counter and hard to find.

Jodi Faye - Google Review

I got here at 1:45 so only the gas station part was open. I still have a magnet for my refrigerator, but it's a fun place to see what they have. All displays have price tags, which was nice. They have many things to offer from food to souvenirs. I hate that we missed the souvenir section, we could only look at that side and not walk around :-( Didn't eat the food so I have no idea about the quality. Toilets were clean and lots of stalls. Truckers have about 5 hectares of parking .

Ellie — Google review

Great place to grab a bite to eat and stretch. Fuel is well priced for the remote area and the bathrooms are always clean. Also many shopping options. They even have fireworks.

Jim Seifried - Google Review

While traveling through New Mexico on our road trip to Arizona, we stopped here at the Clines Corner Travel Center to refuel and grab some snacks and drinks. Very clean toilets. Also great views of the surrounding areas. Overall, I was very satisfied with the experience of stopping at this travel center. Nothing beats the one on the east coast, how unique it is! Yes Yes! Cibola Arts organizes various art exhibitions and small events throughout the year in collaboration with the Manzano Mountain Arts Council (MMAC). Inside you'll find jewelry, woodworking, paintings, multimedia art and more. Open 7 days a week with the help of volunteers, it is a great place to stop and see local art when visiting the town of Mountainair... stop by if you are visiting the "Heart of New Mexico" (Central New Mexico - Mountainair is 10 miles from the geographic center of the state!)

Clean and quiet campsites with nice picnic tables and beautiful fire pits. We had a great time.

Kyndal Holt - Google Review

This park is very quiet, wooded and serene. Someone other than a camper must have planned the spaces as it was impossible for me to get back into my space towards the one way road. With no one coming my way, I headed the wrong way to the location and had no problem backing up the fifth wheel. It's a comfortable place and we love it.

Dennis Prichard - Google Review

Would have given it a 5, but there is no water connection. The crane for the shunting station is even double padlocked! I came in on Tuesday afternoon and there were no official staff anywhere. I also had to drive in the wrong direction to get the necessary angle back in my 5th wheel. Furthermore, it is a good campsite that is well taken care of.

Dennis Prichard - Google Review

We camped on site #4 for 5 days. This place is dry but has a great view. From the campsite we saw many species of birds, black squirrels with silver tails and wild turkeys. I hiked the outer loop trail and saw two deer within a half mile of our campsite. The park was very clean and the camp host was very friendly and helpful.

Dwight Raulerson - Google Review

Nice little park. Clean toilets. I like the trees. Would be nice for fall.

Rita Granberry — Google Review

I got to see the milky way, nice composition, but didn't like that our water was locked out, the toilets were filthy, I'll bring my own chamber pot next time. Not all places have electricity. Beautiful place, just be willing to try it out. Neighbors were way too loud early in the morning. They have to clean the outbuilding much more often.

Deby Simpson — Google review

The office was closed, but the trails were open. Everything is well maintained and welcoming. Bring insect repellent as there were a lot of flies and a small mosquito that would bite the skirting board.

Stan Harris — Google review

Nice State Park, smaller than many, adds to the quiet serenity. Water problems with the different spouts, low pressure and slow flowing. The water pressure wouldn't even push water through our filters. The staff is not particularly outgoing and visible. Electric in many places, but water must be added to your equipment on arrival, otherwise you will need to fill and carry water jugs to refill. No sewage except at the dump. The office is rarely open. Good hiking trails and we enjoyed them. Great internet and Verizon connection. Second time here and we had a wonderful relaxing visit. PipesTraveler.com

Christopher Pipes — Google review

Couldn't ask for a better, clean, quiet spot in the mountains, close to ABQ with about 7/8 electrical locations (#6 and 7 are the best). The drinking water fountains are also located around the campground with a few easy to moderate hiking trails. T-Mobile cell service works well here and they even offer a dump station on the way out, which most NM state parks don't have, ours ours. first visit here but will definitely be back

It was a lot of fun, very expensive, but worth it! The kids were a bit overwhelmed with so many activities and not enough time to enjoy them much due to the long lines. It was quite nice. I'm glad it's an option for family fun/fall festivities. Thanks, McCall's Pumpkin 🎃 Patch! God bless.

Diana Owen — Google Review

We had a great opening weekend! I think the food is reasonably priced. My son had so much fun, as did his grandma and I. It was our first time here, so thank you!!

Ranael Upshaw - Google Review

Good time. As usual. Will definitely come back next year. Even with the costs. I still think it's a bargain for the experience. The kids can play and just coming in is the key. My boys had a great time with the animals. The corn maze picking pumpkins. The various entertainment options.

Eric Luchetti — Google-melding

McCall's has been a favorite of our four for several years. Every year they add new and fun games, activities and things to do, giving you your favorites and me things to enjoy! You can really make a day of it, fantastic corn maze, many games and activities are free with the entrance fee, other things you have to pay for, but kids love it. You can't go wrong spending the day here!

Ben P - Google Review

I only gave this a 3 because after that you pay the $15 entrance fee each person, even kids, they will give you money for every little thing you want to do in their park. $2 for the train, $8 for apple tossing, $2 for goat food. Everywhere you go Ching cha Ching It's quite big and there's a lot to do for SMALL kids, but take a big wallet with you.

That Girl - Google Review

This place is great. So much to do. We were there from 10am to 3pm and only did about half of what was on offer. My 2 1/2 year old. loved it. The roasted corn! The ride to the pumpkin patch! The bouncy castle! The cow train! What a wonderful afternoon. I really feel like they planned everything so well, making the grounds easy to navigate and enjoy. I wish November came so we could keep going!

Amy Louise Skorheim - Google Review

Been this year. I have to say it's a little different than other pumpkin places I've been to. It feels like a pumpkin themed carnival. My son had fun. There is a lot to do, but the take-up is certainly on the higher side. Many of the free activities are old. The bowling sets are very torn. The mini town actually looks like a ghost town, the prison is the only thing everyone has their picture taken with. Corn Maze is fun and free. Train ride costs $4 or $3 extra.

Alisa S. — Google review

Located close to I-25S in Moriarty, New Mexico. This pumpkin patch reminds me of a miniature Disneyland without all the rides. Great experience for all ages. Great family outing. So many wonderful things to do. Castle with princesses, little girls can get their nails done, animals to see, fun corn maze, miniature zipline, lots of different places to eat and plenty of room to sit and eat. Really enjoyed the drive to the pumpkin patch to find the right pumpkin. Making paint guns was fun sneaking around on old farm equipment. Also lots of fun things to do for children. The store has a variety of items for you to purchase. A place you must go to.

Marilyn McCord - Google Review

Our family gathers at McCall's every year. We always have a great time and there is so much to do! Every year they add something new that we all enjoy!

Christy White — Google review

Great place to bring the whole family! It was a beautiful place full of great exhibitions and things to do, see and eat. It is definitely advisable to purchase tickets in advance and plan for the weather. The terrain can get muddy and dusty so I would recommend boots or older shoes as ours were covered in dust when we left. The food and snacks here were so tasty and the staff were very friendly. Definitely try McCall's if you're looking for some seasonal fun!

Jenna Bishop - Google Review

It was my first time this year and it's a great time! It's worth the drive and you can easily spend a whole day here. There are loads of family activities including a train ride, corn maze, apple cannons, play areas for the little ones, rock mines, horse rides and farm animals everywhere! Don't miss it this year!

Such a unique zoo experience. It felt like we were alone in the mountains and encountered mountain lions, a bear, coyotes and many more animals. One of my favorite zoos to date and I loved how closely we were able to observe the animals, who looked happy and well cared for! to look at

Brianna Ayd - Google Review

1 mile of walks and wildlife. Our son is 15 and he enjoyed seeing all the wildlife and hiking. We heard strange noises and there were crows on the property talking to each other. One sounded like alien noises. It was cool. They have a small shop. The mountain lions have a house with thick glass, you can go inside and watch them sleep. The coyote loves attention and will howl with you. Big experience.

Jessica Guzman — Google review

This was the third time I went, I love the walk and help donate to help the animals, I love the access right off the highway, that's how we came to visit this little zoo. A few workers who were there took the time to explain to us about the animals, my grandson loved the trails and the little playground they are building. See you next year.

Guadalupe Hopkins - Google Review

The animals are all local species that have been injured or otherwise cannot be released. You can view them beautifully. The grounds are spread out and you can walk trails through the pinyon-juniper forest. Very quiet, not crowded, a great time. The owner and the people who work there are very nice. They also organize festivals. I just went to the Renaissance Celtic party there. You can't see the animals along the way, but it's a good setting for a fair.

Fiana Shapiro - Google Review

This was such a fun family outing. We spent just over 3 hours walking at a toddler's pace and reading the signs. The information boards are very well done with a lot of information about the species and background of the specific animal. It was warm, but plenty of shade. The picnic area was completely shaded and the tables were all kept very clean. The children's area was very fun and creatively put together. Best of all, the animals here seemed happy and well cared for. 100% worth the drive out of ABQ.

Beth Reardon - Google Review

Excellently maintained grounds and helpful, friendly staff. Highly recommend going! All animals are rescued from various situations and appear to be well cared for.

Keirstin Bennett - Google Review

They have the most amazing animals if you are from New Mexico or another state just passing through. They would love you to visit, they have many animals and they all have a name and a story. Because all animals need your help, they need your help too, so don't forget to donate and show your love for the animals. We know this personally because we are also a rescue, but we will always support those who care most, thank you for all you do!

I went to the annual Wonderful Renaissance Fair!! Had fantasy time!! I definitely plan to go every year from now on! Stayed from opening to closing. Great for both kids and adults! Lots to do and lots to eat! Make sure you have cash, some vendors didn't accept cards.

Charis Nevarez - Google Review

Such a beautiful zoo! So many beautiful animals and the facilities and grounds are well maintained. They even have a cute little gift shop full of treasures and gifts for the whole family. If you haven't been yet, I highly recommend it! They even offer the option to rent the park for events!

Shannon Beaty - Google Review

Much better than the ABQ Zoo. Most of these animals were rescued from private owners, so the coyotes, bobcats, mule deer, elk and ravens came to us and we got a close-up view. We went last summer and this winter and both times it was so much fun! The only difference is that the black bear hibernates in winter. All the other animals were there and had many beautiful winter coats. I will come back!

Dustin Fife - Google Review

I never knew this zoo existed until we stumbled upon it one day. We took our grandchildren and the whole family had a wonderful time exploring and meeting all the rescued animals. Better than the real city zoo. Lots of nooks and crannies to explore.

GS — Google Review

I absolutely love the wild life out west. It's great for kids and even just for a really nice walk. We really enjoy all the animals and especially today we finally got to see the bear!! Kerry was super knowledgeable and friendly and told us all about the javalina. Bobcat was hysterical. And we just love Chewy the coyote and Velcro the mule deer. The list goes on. Super nice place.

Niki Jones — Google review

This is my second visit. I really enjoyed the place. The animals look well cared for. All animals have a story, but they cannot survive alone. The entire park has paved walking paths. Nice view. The staff consists of volunteers. It is a place with full sun, but every animal enclosure has shade for people and animals.

We are newcomers, but Harold has done a great job on driving safety. Brad is a great Wrangler/guide and we all got home safely. My 14 year old daughter loved it and it was her first time. Can highly recommend this company.

Spectacular experience. Best thing I did in New Mexico! Harold is the easiest and best guide. Was extremely clear and simple on how to ride and enjoy. The trail was surprisingly hilly and rocky, which made for great views, but also not an ordinary trail ride. The ups and downs on the course made it really interesting. 5 in our group and Harold easily kept an eye on everything as we ran the ride and damaged the horses. All beautiful horses.

Edit for 2021: We tried to do another tour during Thanksgiving week 2021 and we reserved a specific day. It turned out that the old man on the phone had written down the wrong date and when we called to double check we were met with hostility. “I don't need you telling me what to do,” direct quote. And then he canceled our reservation completely and didn't refund us. Fantastic experience. Nice guides and beautiful routes. I recommend going in the morning, when it is cooler in the summer. No-nonsense, unassuming ride. Definitely not a tourist trap. The instructors take safety seriously. You cycle up the mountain to a truly beautiful view and then back down. Wear jeans, boots, hat/sunscreen. Plus it's dusty. It's the desert. If you're not familiar with horseback riding, it can be a little intimidating. I enjoyed every second!

Kristen Powell Williams - Google Review

I took my 10 year old daughter for a 1 hour 15 minute tour and couldn't have experienced anything better. We were both novice riders and our guide was very informative and made us feel comfortable. It was really beautiful and we had a great time. Definitely an unforgettable experience.

the best thing I did on my last visit to Santa Fe. (Actually, I'm still visiting and might want to go again.) They take good care of their horses. they group people by riding level so beginners don't have to worry about doing too much and people who want to ride faster can have fun. our guide Brad was charming adorbs. and yes, the landscape really is as beautiful as people say. thanks guys for a great experience.

B C — Google review

Thank you very much for this beautiful trail ride on very well trained and motivated horses, one of the best trail rides we have ever done! the tour is only in small groups of maximum 5 people, which makes the experience even better and more personal. you can tell that the horses are treated very well and that they love what they do. If we get the chance, we will definitely come again!

Michelle Mollet – Google Review

We read some reviews before coming but anyway I say always give someone a chance and get away from your own opinion. Harold was wonderful, very personable, gave us a great trip, his lessons on this trip surpassed many lessons I received when riding elsewhere. I learned so much from him. The sunset walk we took and the trail was absolutely breathtaking and he offered to take our photo at the top for us. Thank you for going above and beyond Harold, you will definitely have our business when we return to Santa Fe and we will let you know for great recommendations as well.

Lea Flores Guide - Google Review

My daughters have enjoyed riding here more than once and always came home smiling. Recently we took some photos with their beautiful horses and beautiful landscapes (with permission of course). The owner was so generous and kind. I really appreciated his generosity.

Jeri Timlin — Google-melding

Most excellent experience. Wife and kids rode a few years ago, wife and I did it again this spring. Brad is a great guide, Shadow and Cisco are great horses. Definitely on our to-do list when we return to NM.

Maggie's Diner, made famous by the movie Wild Hog's. Unlike the film, this was originally a vacant lot. Dinner was a purpose-built film set and therefore never was and (apparently) never will be a real dinner. It is a souvenir shop and they have many souvenirs and gifts to choose from at reasonable prices. So definitely worth stopping and shopping while also taking a few photos if you're in Madrid, NM.

Converse 88 — Google review

what a very cool place to check out. LOTS of great merchandise, whether you've seen the movie or not! Huge selection of all kinds of cool stuff! I'm glad it survived the madness of the pandemic. I plan on going back!

Susan Boone - Google Review

Maggie's Diner is a souvenir, t-shirt and gift shop. It's a cool little stop for any Wild Hogs fan. They have a ton of t-shirts to choose from along with other items. Don't plan on eating here though, it's not a restaurant in name only. We dropped by on a Saturday morning around 9:30am and it was literally the store open in Madrid.

rich65k — Google review

A nice place with a great history...this dining room looks like it was made for movies and is notable for the fact that several movies were made here...Nowadays it is a shop run by Maggie, who moved to the area to visit a friend and stay because she loved the area... she offers a variety of souvenirs...

Rhonda Brackett - Google-login

A good place to stop and look around. Very friendly. Great selection of merchandise and souvenirs at reasonable prices. You must have a photo when you are there.

Richard Wiles - Google Review

Visiting Maggies' Diner was really cool, especially as a Wild Hogs fan. The lady working was friendly and told us the history of the building and the city. We were able to pick up some amazing survivors!

Danielle Weeks — Google Review

Not a real dinner! LMAO... It's from the movie "Wild Hogs", built specifically for the movie and left as a souvenir shop with all sorts of things. Worth driving and exploring the area. Parking is available everywhere at the various shops. There is plenty to walk around and see. The museum tells the story of the small coal town, which is also an old locomotive, very cool!

Lawrence Talahongva - Google Review

This is not a restaurant but a souvenir shop. The building was built for the movies. It looks the same inside, with plenty of merchandise to buy. The lady running the shop was super nice and the souvenirs were reasonably priced. I recommend checking it out if you're on the turquoise path

Shane Thomposn — Google review

This place is cool. Built for the movie Wild Hogs, it's not a restaurant, it's a store. The city of Madrid is a fantastic stop on the Turquoise Trail. Many art and jewelry shops. Great artist in the area. There are a few restaurants in this very small town where you can have a snack and a cold drink.

Sunflower — Google Review

Cool place if you are a fan of the Wild Hog films and filming locations. Disney built this building as the setting for "Maggie's Diner". Never was a real dinner. Now it is a souvenir shop with lots of nice stuff. The bar and table where they sat in the movie are still there.

Joe Andrew - Google Review

This is a place I just had to see after the movie Wild Hogs. I was surprised that it wasn't exactly like the movie, I still enjoyed it somehow. I think it's the coolest city. I bought a few things. the people were good too. My fellow riders loved coming here. I don't think a newcomer will be disappointed coming here to see it. The town was nice too. Maybe try to come back in September.

This is a must stop in Madrid, New Mexico! No hard sell, just a helping hand trying to make a decision on which chocolate to buy (lovely people helping you). It can sometimes be an overwhelming decision to try to make. Believe me, there are no bad decisions here. Whatever you decide, you can't go wrong. I've seen people order from home only to start consuming on the way out and then come back to order more. They know they won't come home with what they just bought. It's just that good. To go. Your waistline may regret it, but your soul will be eternally grateful!

Philip Senior - Google Review

Warm and friendly atmosphere. The chocolate varieties are incredible and the turtles were to die for. We will definitely order online if we don't come back to Madrid. The owners let us bring in our puppies and gave them treats. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

Daniel Kofoed - Google Review

We were there today on our way back to ABQ. She was very involved with my daughter. I've tried a few. All fantastic. This is a chocolate shop like no other. Overwhelmed by the presentation and the wonderful atmosphere. I would like to visit before we go back to Athens, Georgia.

Chris Gusek – Google Review

If you are a chocolate lover and are looking for a unique and delectable experience, this chocolate shop is an absolute must-visit. With its unique selection of chocolates and a welcoming atmosphere, it is a paradise for those with a sweet tooth. The chocolate offered in this shop is truly exceptional. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted by the enticing aroma of cocoa, setting the stage for a delectable experience. The store prides itself on sourcing high quality raw materials and producing their chocolates with the utmost care and attention to detail. Every bite is a heavenly explosion of flavors, textures and aromas that will leave you wanting more.

Best and most inventive chocolates in New Mexico. The green chile caramel turtles are amazing and worth the drive. Just talking to Harvey and Nan is worth the drive.

ensoyaya — Google review

I saw the shop sign as I left the pub after a drink. I was intrigued, but didn't expect to find what I did. I thought it would be an unoriginal chocolate shop. I was absolutely wrong. It was an artisanal chocolate shop. The choices of chocolate were dark, white and milk. They had very unique flavors. The ones I ended up buying were lavender, cocoa nib, almond and their 3 Chili with lime/orange essence. There were many more flavors. I was super happy that the dark chocolate was vegan! Definitely recommended to pay a visit. The shop owner was super nice and let you try it! I think he ships his products too.

We stopped in several years ago while visiting the area and loved everything we tried/bought. I couldn't help but think how good it all was. My husband bought some of my favorites for Christmas and they were just as delicious as I remember. Dark Red Chili Mango, Dark Raspberry, Milk Raspberry Chipotle, Dark Green Chili Cashew are the best but they are all delicious!!!

Andrea Kramer — Google review

Everything we bought here tasted absolutely amazing! They were very nice and also gave free small samples of the chocolate to help us decide on our purchase. I love their kitchen sink bark, as well as their dark chocolate covered chili mango and their dark chocolate ginger hibiscus bark?

Golf course

Paako Ridge Golf Club is a beautiful course located in the mountains near Albuquerque, New Mexico. The terrain and native vegetation provide an interesting backdrop for a challenging round of golf. With large elevated tee boxes and plenty of wind, the course offers incredible scenery and a dramatic, impeccable challenge. The original #4 has an impressive green complex of 80 meters, while several tee shots have elevation changes of 12 to 15 meters.

Epic. I had a great round at Paako Ridge. Plays as a single. By the way, the starter had me jump in front of some VIPs who were late for the first tee time of the day. So I was the first on the course! I took out 18 in just under 3 hours, without even rushing. The track was in good condition. I'm so glad I made the trip from Albuquerque to go into the mountains and play this song. The terrain and native vegetation are much more interesting at Paako Ridge. Large elevated tee boxes. Much wind. Beautiful environment. Challenging course with some great par 3's over 200 yards. If you are used to playing at sea level the 230 yard par 3s are more like 190. The staff was friendly. The facilities were very nice and the food was incredible. Shout out to the foundation team for the work, it shows!

Phil M - Google Review

The best golf course in NM. The carriage was fast and strong. All the people there were very nice and polite. G/Fore signature items in the pro shop. I like this place.

We Eat - Google Review

Absolutely pristine condition and a must play if you want to experience the best. The course is challenging and the greens are perfect. The facility is top notch. $231 including tax, but it's worth the drive.

Rick May - Google Review

My wife and I played on Father's Day. It was the only course in Albuquerque that was not occupied and we were eager to play this course again. We played it a few years ago. The staff was informative and set us up with the course rules. Very nice people in the clubhouse. Played 10 to 18, then 19 to 27. There's a reason this course is #1 in the NM. IT IS DIFFICULT!! It's very similar to a links course. No flat ground to shoot from. Danger around every corner. You have to play accurately. The field is beautifully set up. After playing a round there, you really feel it! We had dinner there and the food was great. The bartender and waitress were great. If you really want to enjoy a day of golf, play PaaKo. I can't wait to play there again! Everyone at PaaKo: thank you for an unforgettable Father's Day.

Chris Lovato - Google Review

I'm sitting in my hotel room thinking about my visit to Paako this morning. First of all, the first impression was with Mr. Jeff Biggs and his hospitality. We drove 9 hours to visit this golf course and we got there an hour before they opened. We walked around the practice area and about nine greens and ten tees. We are early birds. All the maintenance people stood away and greeted us. He took us to the pro shop and made us feel welcome. We were the second start time of the day and the four in front of us let us start first. It was a nice gesture. Just good vibes in general throughout the day. All the truck drivers were also very personable. All the staff were wonderful. The job. Absolutely in pristine condition. This course is difficult. I'm not a scratch golfer. For me it's more about the new course and experience. 100% came out of this. I've been following Paako on Instagram for several years and finally decided to come here. Yes, it's expensive, but my heart is happy. I even played par on the last 6 holes. I hit it to 10 feet on the 220ish yard par 3 #14 and missed my birdie putt. Lmao. Thinking about it now, I wish all 27 of us had played, but we'll be back. Thank you for your hospitality. Oh, lunch was great too. Had the burger. Until next time Paako 🙌🤙

William Eric - Google Review

Listen...expensive golf course? Yes. However, it is for the right reasons. This is an experience unlike any other in NM and in the US. Firstly, the 27 holes are immaculate with breathtaking views. The greens were the cleanest I have ever played. None compatible. Second, the employees were some of the nicest, down-to-earth, customer experience-oriented people I've encountered while golfing. Ryan Zonski (Head Golf Professional) was at the top. He was willing to help me coordinate and handicap for our Ryder Cup. Everything was prepared and ready for me when we arrived. Joe March (Food & Beverage) was damn good at his job. He constantly checked in with us and made sure we were taken care of. Would 100% return and recommend to my group.

Landon Fenner — Google review

Fantastic course with incredible scenery. Definitely the best I've played in NM. The original #4 has an incredibly complex green of approximately 80 yards long! Numerous tee shots have elevation changes of 40-50 feet. The course is a dramatic, impeccable challenge. Although I first visited Paako Ridge in 2014 and the prices were very reasonable ($110 per round), the new owner raised the prices a bit. Hopefully the increased income will find its way back to the track to make it even better. Overall: The course is number 1 in New Mexico for a reason. This is a must play if you have the chance.

Rory Smith - Google Review

MAGNIFICENTLY! Paako Ridge is the absolute best course in New Mexico, hands down! The round will take quite a bit of effort, but if you want the best bang for your buck, pay for the replay and experience all 27 holes. Lunch was also excellent and the staff was very nice. I wish I had the money to go back again!

Museum with extensive, handmade dioramas by Ross Ward depicting Old West scenes and antique toys.

A huge treasure trove of authentic circus memorabilia and truly inspiring outsider art. Warm and cordial hostesses. Lots of old arcade machines and large dioramas and facades from the Wild West. A nice child-oriented gift shop with games and toys and dolls. As a year in the area. Don't miss this one.

I lived in Albuquerque for 6 years and moved, so during my trip there this year we came across this amazing place. There is so much to look at, think about and do. I would take my family there next time I visit, it was really great. Great staff and we met the wife of the man who still lives on site, she is a unique and wonderful woman herself. She has given up on the place and is such a sweet soul.

An unusual museum, but interesting stop under the Sandias Mountains. Closed for the winter from November 1st to November 1st April...don't know if that means it's best to check every winter. I had been there in the warmer season. Nice store inside and nice people. ...A charming place. Photos give you an idea of how it is put together. But stop by to see it and get a feel for the place for yourself...in the warmer seasons if you're in the area or traveling near Cedar Crest.

This is one of the most interesting places I have been in years. The love can be seen in the hours of work/hobby time that are put into this place. It's a gem worth driving to. The price is cheap for the pleasure you get from this place. The displays they built are stunning. Your children will be surprised. Old or young, this is an adventure you must experience

Great facility with so much history. Claire the owner is very friendly and available to answer all your questions about the exhibits. There are so many fascinating pieces and so much history! I was worried that I might not be able to get through in my power wheelchair, but that wasn't the case; I was able to navigate 95% of it. A drawback? Plan to spend more time than you originally thought, there's just more to see everywhere you look 😁

Tinkertown is always such a fun experience with family and friends. I have been taking my kids since they were babies and they have new experiences every time they go. Thanks Tinkertown!

Dajah Dubuisson — Google review

What a great place. It seems that this place was one man's dream and creation and the only thing he spent his spare time building. Apparently he also managed to find time to start a family, but seeing all this makes you wonder how. Just fantastic.

Gerry Davison - Google Review

One of the most unique roadside attractions left. The drive to the Sandia Crest is spectacular and this place is not to be missed! It can be uneven and slightly sloping in places, making it a challenge for people with walking difficulties. The artistry and creativity of one man's vision is simply delightful!

LeslieAnn Rangel - Google Review

It is certainly 'unique'. The drive was scenic. But as you walk through the museum you have to appreciate the amount of time, dedication and love that has gone into this place. A lifetime of art to look at, from wood carvings, art walls, a boat and a quartz machine. Bring quarters! The gift shop was also great, not for the charm and souvenirs, but the prices for gift shop items were more than reasonable. I honestly appreciate that they don't price holes!

M. Hay - Google Review

Hill used for religious pilgrimages. The hill has three crosses like on Golgotha. There is a fantastic view from the top of the hill. The climb from the parking lot takes about 30 minutes for someone with bad knees.

Guillermo Loubriel - Google Review

This hill is a beautiful, rustic, historic and religious site. The top of the hill offers beautiful views of the Rio Grande Valley to the west and the Manzano Mountains to the east. It is an inspiring experience to pray and sing at 3 crosses on top of the hill. There is no entrance fee or parking fee. The path is stony and steep in places. There is no bathroom available. The Dollar Tree store on NM State Highway 47, 1.4 miles west of Tome Hill, has a customer restroom and sells bottled water.

Easy to reach. Nice walk. It took me and my 4 year old son 20 minutes to reach the top. Quite steep and rugged in places. Took photos of about 50 petroglyphs on the eastern slope of the hill. They look very similar to the petroglyphs in ABQ. Nice view

El Rancho de las Golondrinas is a living Spanish village that offers visitors an immersive experience of how people lived throughout history. The village includes a hacienda, a schoolhouse and a village shop, staffed by costumed workers. Visitors can also see a working watermill and enjoy reasonable prices for the time they spend there. It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes, bring sun protection and plan a picnic. The museum offers free tours with expert guides who allow interaction with most exhibits.

A very unexpected find for us. We thought it was much smaller and would be a quick trip, but we ended up staying for over 3 hours and it ended up being one of our favorite stops. The volunteers everywhere were so kind and acted as guides who made the whole place come alive for adults, teens and children alike. I was amazed at how much they all knew about all aspects of life and history over the years. Very interesting and educational for all ages.

Nadia P — Google review

A fantastic step back in time. The historical volunteers were excellent. Your children can see how people live in history. They even have a working watermill that they use occasionally. The prices are reasonable for the time you spend there. Tips: wear good walking shoes, wear a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, bring water and even plan a picnic

Raymond Burgess - Google Review

Always come here during the Viva Mexico festival. Nice museum and there is always someone hanging around the part or building there to explain the history of the building and what life was like then. Be sure to bring good walking shoes, sunscreen, a hat or umbrella for shade, and a bottle of water. They have water refill stations as I have only seen one near the school building and the bathrooms near the entrance.

Marisol Mor?n - Garcia — Google Review

We went to the Living Museum Days, where volunteers dressed up and demonstrated the many activities on the farm. It was amazing!! They did an excellent job teaching the children and conducting hands-on activities. The tin stars were a favorite - get there early and back to that shop - it's a sticking point for students. There is a lot of walking, some hills. I had a stroller and could go most places. FYI: It doesn't detract from the experience: the path to the chapel on the hill (between the schoolhouse and the mill) is NOT stroller friendly. It is clear from the mill side because there are only stairs, but not from the school side. Also, the church wasn't as visible as those in the main activity areas, so if you want to see the cemetery, go....otherwise just walk along the flat/wooden path!

Jennifer Nix — Google review

Unbelievable isn't the word. Breath. You must visit their annual ghost festival to see performances. Eat tasty treats. Learn the history of New Mexico!

Neema Kamaria — Google review

We visited quite late in the season so unfortunately it was a self-guided tour. There is a map with numbered stops on it where you can see the names of the different places. Very peaceful and beautiful at this time of year, but I will have to return when the guides are in the area to hear about the workings of the ranch.

Gerard Sullivan - Google Review

Wow! this place is incredible! it is an amazing/beautiful ranch full of several stations with generous volunteers explaining and showing the traditional way of life that existed historically. the uptake is ridiculously low. the rancho is a real gem and it is so generous of the people who own/run it to provide this living resource to the community.

A beautiful, well-preserved piece of history. I went on many unforgettable school trips here as a child and that wonder is still present. Just visited for the harvest festival which was a fun time; great weather, decent vendors and some quirky people watching.

beautiful 18th century reenactment area with lots to do. We ended up spending several hours looking around. there are old churches and cemeteries to visit, wine making, an old fashioned blacksmith, peeps in colonial uniforms, a real 4 generations of a family making chili peppers, weaving and spinning classes and much more... food trucks offering varied food and local artisans and farmers sell goods and products.

Jules C (popmonkey) — Google review

We were very surprised how much we enjoyed our visit here! We took a tour and Jerry was a wealth of knowledge. We really got a feel for life and times on the ranch. Each area has an expert volunteer in period clothing who explains about the building. We expected to get through it in about an hour, but enjoyed talking to the staff so much that we were there for almost 4 hours.

We were here at a beer and food festival. The expert volunteer staff at the museum ranch all worked to demonstrate life in the 19th century, working weavers, blacksmiths, tanners and bakers. There are beautiful walking trails on site and nice corners to escape the festival. Very family friendly. If you buy an annual membership, you also get free entry to festivals.

Beautiful place to see history and get grounded. I recommend it if you need a break from everyday life! We had a great time and plan to come often!

We attended the Spirits of Halloween event. This place is a great living history museum with a lot to see. In October it was beautiful and the leaves were changing color. It is a big place with many walks. I wish the event could have started a few hours earlier so we would have had enough time to see everything. It was a nice time.

The National Museum of Nuclear Science and History is a museum that covers the history of nuclear science, from the nuclear age to the present. The exhibits include real fighter planes and weapons, as well as exhibits on medicine, power and other peaceful uses of nuclear energy. The museum is located in Los Alamos, New Mexico, where many scientists involved in the development of nuclear technology lived.

Much better than I expected. It wasn't very busy for us on Thursday. Tickets are valid for 24 hours. Covers everything from history to wartime use and peacetime use, including quack medicine. Check out their website so you can get a good idea if this is your thing. Very educational.

e-Scott — Google Review

I was excited to visit this museum because I am interested in science and especially the history of the Cold War and the technological advances that were made as a result. This museum did not disappoint me at all! There were many great exhibits showing not only the military side of nuclear science, but also the medical and energy-generating applications of nuclear technology. The aircraft and missile exhibition outside is also worth seeing. I would highly recommend this museum to anyone interested in history, nuclear science or aviation.

Jeff Kelso - Google Review

This was a great experience. There is enough information here to last for hours. You can be your own guide here without any problems. But if you listen to the guide, you will hear so much information that it will be difficult to process it all. The staff were fantastic and the facilities were super clean. One of the best facilities I have ever been to. It's also a great place for Pokémon Go.

ScriptT — Google review

Lots of amazing artefacts on display both inside and out. You can capture both Fat Man and Little Boy at once. There are Soviet MiG-21s next to the F-16. But the exhibit that caught my attention the most is the weapon that can fire nuclear shots. Very few were made.

Vadim Solodukhin - Google Review

This is just an amazing place! Lots of story and just enough kid stuff to keep your attention! Very knowledgeable staff and everyone wants to share with you! Give yourself about 2 hours to see all the great exhibits inside and out!

JJ R. — Google review

Patriotic, historic and unapologetic. I loved this museum, it stuck to the facts and didn't portray the US as the bad guys. Which to my surprise I found refreshing. The props are excellent, to my civilian eye everything looks good. I think it's important to learn the history and not be afraid of nuclear energy. Very informative, but it's also just good to walk around. There is also a very good airport. Kids would probably love that part

Hazael Vega — Google review

This was the most incredible place I have been since the NASA Space Center! World War II aircraft with test atomic bomb tower mockups! It could take many hours reading each description of the images or materials! Small but nice gift shop too! To get free admission, go to the library to get a pass!

Bob Workman — Google review

Everything you want to know about the Manhattan Project and the history of nuclear science! Lots of cool history and planes! The toy room was really cool too!

Spencer E - Google Review

The museum itself is well organized. The main route takes you through the entire development of nuclear weapons up to the end of the Cold War. Many artifacts from different time periods, both original and reproductions. Then there are other thematic areas covering other aspects of nuclear history, science and technology. Outside is an open-air area with aircraft, missiles and other weapon systems. All in all an experience of several hours.

John Sheldon – Google Review

Took the kids to this museum and was delighted with the amount of history and hands-on exhibits. We had been to the Trinity site before so this was a way to learn about Los Alamos and the US nuclear program of the 1940s. They also learn how nuclear science is used today in medicine and energy production. The gift shop also has some goodies!

Lesley Boger - Google Review

It is a very informative and educational place if you want to learn both nuclear knowledge and history. I like the layout and different contexts. I like the open air exhibitions. Seen a real B52 for the first time. Tip: It may take a day to read all the information and watch the videos. Give yourself at least 2 hours to get through it quickly.

Fanghong Wang — Google-melding

I was ecstatic when I discovered that a museum like this existed. I am obsessed with the history surrounding the early stages of nuclear energy development through modern times. Really detailed exhibits and an amazing ability to show the scale and brainpower that designed and built these technologies.

Alec (Makinhotcoffee) - Google Review

Wow, you could literally spend all day browsing through this place. The planes catch your eye as you drive onto the highway, and they are truly the highlight of the place. Their exhibits on the Manhattan Project were interesting, the German nuclear project of World War II and the 1950s and 1960s pop culture referencing the nuclear age were also great. Check out the MIRVs and ICBMs. The "great nuclear power" over nuclear power was also okay. There is plenty of free parking and their toilets were clean and tidy. They also have a cool souvenir shop.

James Flynn - Google Review

Definitely a place to visit in Albuquerque. We were there for the Balloon Festival and needed some side activities to fill the time. The place is just great. Historical timeline from the early discoveries to our current situation and why there is a desperate need to acquire the technology for medicine and power.

B Cook - Google Review

So fun and informative! There are many interesting exhibits and articles to look at. The volunteers are very informative and friendly. I highly recommend!

Shelby - Google Review

4.5/5 stars - down half a star because of how small the place is and what they charge for entry in comparison. As a kid I was only good at drawing, jet planes, rockets and the space shuttle, so this place took me back to a happy place in my life! Great exhibitions, friendly staff and very knowledgeable and helpful volunteers!

Nice ride up the mountain. Nice shop too! We enjoyed seeing all of Albuquerque. Nice and clean, with walking paths on top.

SW — Google review

Great view for lunch! Expensive of course and the food took a while, but it sure tasted good!

Lauren Milam - Google Review

Please note: the gift shop itself appears to be permanently closed. At least I've never seen it open in the last year. But the main reason to come here remains – and that is to enjoy the beautiful views and access to paths that lead to the tram and restaurant. It is quite windy in this location and temperatures can easily be 10-15 degrees cooler than at the base of the mountain. The drive up the mountain is beautiful and there are several pullouts and trailheads as you get to the top.

Robert Betchel - Google Review

We walked to Crest House from the tram in August 2023. Crest House was completely closed off despite signs outside saying it was open 7 days a week. When you look through the windows, the building has been cleared of all the souvenir shops and snack bar items they used to have. The tables are all stacked in a corner. There is a large amount of dust on everything. So even though it says temporarily closed, it seems permanently closed to me. There are vault toilets outside, but no water to top up your bottle for the return journey to the tram.

Chelsea Ketchum — Google Review

The Crest is actually much more interesting than the gift shop, but it is quite a small place. The people who work there are all very friendly, and even saw a deer on the way down. But since you asked about the gift shop, here it is.

The Sandia Peak Tramway is a 3,000-foot-long tram that takes tourists to the top of the Sandia Mountains for stunning views. This tourist attraction is a great way for those looking for adventure and something different to do in Albuquerque.

So let me start: I'm not a fan of heights. We bought tickets the day before, which they recommend. Check-in was easy with friendly reception staff. The bathrooms were clean and tidy. We waited about 15 minutes to board. Once on board the tram the guide/cabin operator was very informative and safety was a top priority. The drive up is breathtaking, you go from the desert to the Canadian geography. The guide was very informative about the trip with various information about geography and history. Once at the top there was snow on the ground and it was very cold "bring a jacket." The restaurant was closed at that time. The air is very thin, so hold your breath. You can walk around and see some of the nature in the area, but be careful of ice and animals. During the decency I got a little nervous because of my fear of heights. But it was a smooth ride, the beginning of the descent was a bit of a rush, but you get used to it. And the journey down was, in my opinion, much better than the climb up. I recommend the people were great and very professional.

Hunter Garcia – Google Review

I would say this was well worth the money. My only complaint (and it's a big one) is that the tram is too packed with people to enjoy the view unless you sit right by the window. Wait for a group to leave and then get to the front of the line to fully enjoy this experience. It's an incredible view even if you don't enter the restaurant. If you want to make a reservation, make sure you make it a few weeks in advance. There are hiking trails at the top, and the last trek back down of the day is at 9. I would choose one way or another: go up to see photos and go to the restaurant, or go to the hiking trails. This time we followed the photo route, but next year we will probably choose to do some walking. Beautiful place definitely worth a visit.

Madie Leon Riley - Google Review

First of all, the view from the tram is breathtaking. As you ascend the mountain, you'll be treated to panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, including the city of Albuquerque and the rugged Sandia Mountains. The tram offers a unique perspective, allowing you to see the beauty of the area from a completely different point of view. Whether you visit during the day or take a stroll at sunset, the scenery is truly awe-inspiring. The tram carriages themselves are spacious and comfortable. They are designed to accommodate a large number of passengers, but even when the tram is full, there is still plenty of room to move around and enjoy the ride. The large windows provide excellent visibility, giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful view. The tram operators are friendly and professional, provide interesting commentary about the area and make the journey even more enjoyable. Once you reach the top, there are plenty of activities and facilities to explore. The Sandia Peak Observation Deck offers 360-degree views so you can take in the beauty of the surrounding mountains and valleys. There are also hiking trails for those who want to explore the natural beauty of the area on foot. Kawani's Cabin Trail is easy enough and worth the spectacular views. Additionally, the weather on top of the mountain can be cooler than in the city, so it's a good idea to bring a jacket or extra layers, especially in the colder months.

Daryl Marcelo - Google Review

It was a really cool experience! The tram going up was at full capacity and didn't get a seat right next to a window, but still had a pretty good view. There weren't many people at the top. Hiking trails were beautiful and pretty easy going for most people I'd say. The tram operator was great and I wish I could remember her unique name. The view was out of this world! For a family of 4 it cost about $120 and I think it was worth it for the experience.

Jennifer McNeill – Google Review

So my dad and I were glad we made the trip to the top. If you're at 6,000 feet, take a tram ride to 30,000 feet. You need to go to the top to find out the actual total height. Should leave some light. 😌This is a tough experience for someone not used to the altitude, but as you can see the photos of the landscape were breathtaking and so beautiful that I would ask someone to take in all the beauty. I took the photo of the bee to show that by simply taking photos of the skyline and terrain, you can miss the flowers and beauty of nature in front of you.

Robert Trout - Google Review

Despite my own extreme fear of heights, this is an experience you don't want to miss. The view of Albuquerque is extraordinary, the walk up is a bit scary, but going down was much easier. The gondola was large and the trip up was full to the last seat. Since it was busy it was harder to see the view, but it's probably nice to make it work for everyone. Once at the top you saw both sides of the mountain. And if you like hiking, the ski slopes are open to hikers in summer. Even the gift shop was not only well stocked but also very well priced. Parking is plentiful and free. You'll be glad you went.

Dennis Shuman - Google Review

The Sandia tram to the top of the mountain offers simply beautiful and amazing views of the mountains and Albuquerque as an entire metropolitan area. If you are a tourist this is great to do for at least 2 or 3 hours. There is also a large gift shop for tourists. There are some great hiking trails and generally great photo opportunities.

Jack Voltz — Google review

Children love this experience. It's a bit windy at the top, so bring your jacket. Per person was $27, but it was worth it. You can hike to the mountains and have fun with your family. It has a beautiful sunset. Don't forget to make sure you don't miss the last tram back. There are so many parking spaces. You have to lock your stroller in the tram and take your water with you.

Hatice Kacer — Google review

Very cool experience 😎 Definitely recommended! We bought tram tickets at the last minute as we drove through the city. We arrived and once in line to board, the wait was about 45 minutes. The view was beautiful, even from the bar! The ride took about 15 minutes and was great! You pass several canyons and valleys, so the view constantly changes. Once at the top, the temperature was no less than 35 degrees (25 degrees colder than on the ground)! We couldn't eat in the restaurant, but they let us buy co*cktails and enjoy them outside. So many pictures and we keep the plot.

Katie Zumbahlen — Google Login

The tram is always worth it. I've been there several times and whether you're a local or visiting, it's always breathtaking. There are windows to go up and down (dinner for 4, or 5-8). The ride takes about 14 minutes and you usually have good visibility wherever you stand. If you come around sunset, make sure you get back to the line when it's over, otherwise you may miss the tram and have to wait another 30 minutes. Also bring a jacket, it is always surprisingly fresh and windy there, but so beautiful!

Cecilia Williams — Google review

We loved the tram. We drove through in our RV and decided to stop and take it to the top of Sandia Peak. Plenty of parking for our camper, although this may be different on weekends. They do not have dedicated parking for RVs or buses. The ride up is great and the operator provided great commentary. The view from the top is fantastic. It's 20° cooler, so bring a light jacket. There is a nice restaurant at the top with fantastic views. We thought it was fantastic.

Scott Freburg - Google Review

Very cool experience! 3,000 feet with views of Albuquerque and surrounding areas. We bought tickets well in advance. They sell out quickly! We had to wait 45-60 minutes because it was the same weekend as the International Balloon Fiesta, so there were a lot more people than normal, which was fine. The sun was shining and there was a small band playing that kept everyone entertained. The main building and gift shop at the base are pretty cool. Beautiful views from the tram ride to the top of the peak with 47 of your closest strangers! The staff was very knowledgeable and shared many facts on the way up and down. Once at the top, you can wander through the area at your leisure. There is a restaurant called ten3. Reservations are highly recommended for the main restaurant, be prepared to wait for bar service and service. Drinks and food are a bit pricey for some ($18 for specialty drinks, sandwiches $12-18, but at this point, yeah, does that matter?) Make sure you're hydrated before you go up, and bring water while you are there. The elevation change will affect many, so be prepared. And it's windy and cold at the top, so dress accordingly!!! To enjoy!!!

Anessa Kertesz Mueller - Google report

4 stars only because the wait seemed extremely long. With small children I wish there had been a better system where you get a ticket on arrival with your seat in line with a much smaller time window of 15 or 20 minutes. After waiting in the outside line and then the inside line, our youngest got angry. That said, this was a truly unique experience. We visited the Tram the Monday before Thanksgiving. There was a lot of waiting. It was hard for our 2.5 year old. But the experience was worth the wait. In November it was below freezing on top of the mountain and fresh snow fell. There is a snack machine and toilets at the top, as well as the nice restaurant. We enjoyed the panoramic view and the snow and then headed back down. The journey was about 15 minutes up and the same for the way down. The tram company gives you information about the mountain along the way, and then the way down was a bit quieter, just enjoying the scenery. This is definitely a unique experience that you don't experience often. It was fun for our 2.5 year old all the way to my 71 year old mother!

Laurel Waller - Google Review

Worth it if you haven't had any tram experience yet. A bit expensive. Good if you like walking as there are trails up there. Wouldn't recommend if you just want a scenic view and want to mark this attraction on the to-do list. Wheeler Peak is a great place if you like scenic views. Sandia Peak is a great place if you need tram experience, hiking, skiing or scenic views.

Avani Jain — Google-recencies

This was by far the coolest thing to do in Albuquerque! It's reasonably priced and the view was just amazing! They have only 2 cable cars that come every 15 minutes. The ride takes about 15 minutes from point to point and was very smooth. There are no seats on the cable car, but there are plenty of poles to grab onto. There are also several short and long hiking trails at the top, which we definitely took advantage of. I would highly recommend it!

Dan Reamer - Google Review

Not busy which was great. The journey there and back was fairly uneventful. The view was fantastic and with the team tour price, our "guide" on the way up was fantastic. Have been in touch with everyone who has answered questions etc. Those who go under have to find a new job. She told almost everyone that she didn't answer questions and had trouble keeping her eyes open. I literally saw her with my eyes closed more than once.

Cindy Robertson — Google review

Photos from the top of the tram. Purchased tickets online in advance. When I got there, I was told that there were weather conditions that temporarily prevented them from using the tram. The staff kept me informed and in the end there was no weather delay. At the top you can explore the area and come back down when you're ready. There is a restaurant at the top, I think reservations are recommended, and there is a dress code after 6pm. 19. It's a nice stop. There is also a gift shop.

Gabrielle Davis-Jones - Google Review

Spectacular view! Made the trail hike (lol - less than 1/2 mile) worth it for the amazing views. Great weather in the 20's and then light showers, I thought for a moment it was pollen... 1 star deducted because the host and hostess sat at tables with minimal visibility despite repeated requests. They claimed a bigger group but later they sat the others like our (2)...the waiter Mike and others did a lot for hospitality and attention..The host and hostess need more training in hospitality...Enjoyed from the tram ride, the weather and the view... Sandia & Ten3 is a great place for photos or a romantic date (ignore the host/hostess couple)

Gregory Lee - Google Review

This was the second time I rode the tram. The views and sunsets are exceptional, I recommend driving around sunset so you can experience the landscapes and sunset on the way up and the city lights on the way down. Take a jacket, dress warmly, it was freezing and windy at the top. And we had some wind on our trip which was a bit scary but great to see how the staff communicated immediately after the gusts calling the tram at what seemed like the exact time of the wind to check on us. The staff was friendly, professional and shared fun facts about the rides. It's worth it, I've ridden it at least twice and would probably do it again, just to see/share all that beauty again. The colors in the sky were so absolutely incredible.

Wow! When the water in the Rio Grande was too high to kayak safely, these guys came up with a great alternative! We rafted with a guide and had so much fun! We stopped for a nice little picnic well off the beaten path - places we would never have been able to get to except by water. We had so much fun and we were definitely in good hands with our guide. We will come back when we have family in town!

Went on the kayak tour at the balloon festival. It was everything I hoped for. An eternal world-class memory. The guides were friendly, funny and informative. FYI, the river is low this time of year. Even though I met the weight requirements, the shallow river caused my butt to get stuck more times than I'd like to admit. The guides were very helpful, but something to consider if you're going at the end of the season and you're "squeamish".

You can't beat Quiet Waters Paddling Adventures! Their equipment is in great condition, the staff and guides are exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful, and the entire company goes above and beyond to give you a safe and wonderful experience! Note: If you get the tour, Quiet Waters generally offers a very nice light picnic about halfway through the trip. For the picnic we all stopped at the side of the river, ate lunch, drank, enjoyed the scenery and chatted before heading back to finish the trip. Whether you are an experienced rower or trying the sport for the first time, Quiet Waters has you covered! What to expect: - Arrival and check-in - Safety is always number 1 and you will undoubtedly be a U.S. Coast Guard Safety Video - Be equipped with a life jacket, emergency whistle and paddles (kayaks are already loaded onto a trailer by the excellent staff and guides) - You will be driven to the river where the kayaks will be unloaded - Receive instructions about the river with demonstrations by the guides - The guides will help you launch your kayaks to get started - Just follow the instructions, respect the power of nature/river, don't forget to implement your safety training and most importantly, have FUN!
