Effective ways to preserve Android device battery health
1. Use 'Power Saving Mode'
The quickest and easiest way to preserve or extend the battery life of your Android smartphone is to enable the "power saving mode". You can easily enable this feature by going to Settings > Device maintenance of your device and then tapping the battery icon in the lower left corner.
When enabled, this feature reduces the brightness of your screen and uses the minimum battery on your device.
2. Limit app usage on your Android smartphone
It is always advisable to keep your Android smartphone loaded with minimal apps. The more apps you have on your phone, the more power it uses to run apps in the background, draining the battery faster. You should always keep your home screen organized with the least number of apps. You can uninstall unnecessary apps that you don't use often. This will help you extend the battery life of your phone.
3. Disable 'location services'
The location tracking services like GPS put a drastic strain on your phone's battery life. Therefore, it is recommended to disable the 'location' option in your phone's 'Settings' to preserve the battery life of your device. Several other modules, such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, also use more battery on your phone. You can always close all these options to improve your phone's battery health.
Apart from these, you can always keep track of how you charge your phone. You should avoid interrupted charging pattern of your Android smartphone. If you have a long day ahead of you, you can charge up to 80 percent and then use it wisely. But in between charges, your phone's battery pattern disturbs and further leads to it draining quickly.
Tips to extend iPhone battery life
1. Activate the "optimized battery charging" function.
With iOS 13, Apple introduced a new feature called "optimized battery charging" which aims to extend the battery life of your iPhone. Just enable it on your iPhone by going to Settings > Battery > Battery Mode. The Optimized Battery Charging feature allows your phone to learn about your charging habits. It estimates your phone's usage time and so charges itself to 80 percent first and then doesn't charge the remaining 20 percent until you're about to use it.

2. Use the 'Auto-brightness' feature
This feature on the iPhone device allows you to check the brightness level of your device based on the environment you are in. When you're at home or at work, your device's brightness is automatically lowered to save battery life. You can enable this feature on your iPhone in Settings > General > Accessibility > Show Nights.
3. Do not use iPhone in extreme temperatures
It is advisable not to use your iPhone in extreme weather conditions be it hot or cold. iOS devices reportedly work best between 32° to 95°F (0° to 35°C). Extremely hot or cold temperatures can negatively affect the battery and discharge it faster.
4. Use 'Low Power Mode'
iOS guides you to enter "low-power mode" once your iPhone reaches the 20 percent charge mark. Power saving mode helps you conserve power by turning off background activities that further help your device improve and extend battery life. You can always enable this feature manually after fully charging your phone.
5. Shorten the 'Auto-lock time' on your iPhone
We all know that the 'Auto-lock' feature automatically turns off the screen when the user is not actively using the device. To save your phone's battery life, you can use this feature. Go to Settings, then Display & Brightness and from there in the Auto-Lock setting select the minimum duration for the setting of 30 seconds. Your device automatically locks itself after 30 seconds of inactivity, ultimately not draining your phone's battery unnecessarily.
