Goodbye, potato waffles
As much as we'd love to hear about a brand new release fromMcDonald's, it's always a bittersweet occasion. Sure, they're great while they last (scratch it, they're totally sensational), but there's always the fear that they'll... well, go away. And unfortunately for us, we just got some bad news.
McDonald'sis eliminating a beloved item from the breakfast menu: the potato waffles. The hash brown alternative only launched in October 2022, but is already on the chopping block and will disappear from menus this week.
As if this wasn't bad enough news, four more items are heading into the sunset: Cheese Melt Dippers, The Big Taste, the Festive Pie and the Celebrations McFlurry.
Okay, we understand that the festive possibilities disappear into the ether, but what did Cheese Melt Dippers ever do to deserve this fate?
It's safe to say that fans of the potato waffles were not happy with their demise:
However, there is light at the end of the tunnel as McDonald's this week announced the launch of an exciting new addition to their packaging offering:Spicy Sriracha wrap. That's not all: there's also a new DOUBLE McPlant Burger and the return of Aero Chocolate and Aero Peppermint McFlurries. So it's actually not that bad...
