This Easter Egg in 'The Office' Episode 'Delivery: Part 2' Will Completely Change the Way You See Baby Cece's Birth (2024)

The officeis filled with countless iconic moments, and some of the funniest scenes of the entire series can be found in the season 6 episodes "Delivery: Part 1" and "Delivery: Part 2", when Pam gives birth to her first child with Jim, Cecilia Halpert. But these particularly memorable moments become even more fun when you learn what went on behind the scenes of the pair. Anda fact about itThe officesection "Delivery: part 2"will change the way you watch that episode forever. It makes the birth even more of a family event, especially for one of the actors.

Like most episodes of the show, “Delivery: Part 2” is both heartwarming and hilarious. There's the scene where Michael tries to enter Pam's delivery room with a bunch of balloons and is disturbed by what he sees ("I want to wash my eyes," he says afterwards), but also a tender shot of Jim and Pam cuddling . together with their new baby. One of the central plots of the episode is Pam's extremely relatable struggle to properly breastfeed her new daughter.Officefashion, the show finds a way to make this everyday mom problem fun, sweet,Insloppy.

As fans may recall, things get especially tricky when Pam becomes so frustrated with Cece's inability to latch that she calls a lactation consultant to her hospital room. This specialist happens to be a man, and when he starts examining Pam and demonstrating to her how to best encourage her daughter to feed and touch her breasts in a completely professional manner, Jim becomes less comfortable with the situation. His discomfort is completely unwarranted as this is something Pam is really concerned about and the lactation consultant is just doing her job. But he keeps looking at the camera as if to say, "This is super weird." If you don't believe me, just look at his face:

The whole situation is typicalOfficecomedy, just onefact recently reported by Buzzfeedmakes the scene even more enjoyable. The actor playing the lactation consultant is not only a professional hired for the job, but also manages Jenna Fischer's husband, Lee Kirk. So John Krasinski got to stand by and pretend to be offended that his TV wife's real-life husband touched her breast in front of him. It's like the beginning of husbands or something. Now that you know this, I challenge you to watch that scene again the same way.

Fischer and Kirk married in 2010during a ceremony in Malibu, according toPeople. Many of themOfficeco-stars attended the ceremony, withDwight Schrute actor Rainn Wilsontweeting about the event: "Went to the most beautiful wedding I have ever attended. Total Love, Jenna Fischer & Lee Kirk!" The couple has two children together, although the baby played by Cece Halpert was not in fact their real child. (although that would be nice.)

This scene wasn't actually the first time a cast member's wife appeared on the show. Steve Carrell's wife, Nancy Carrell (formerly Nancy Walls) had a recurring role on the showals Carol Stills, Michael Scott's girlfriend who was far too level-headed to date the erratic paper company executive for more than a few episodes. Knowing that the couple is married in real life makes their terrible on-screen breakup even funnier, just as knowing that Pam's lactation consultant was her real-life husband makes Jim's unjustified outrage even more ridiculous.

Awkward babysitting moments aside, Jim and Pam will forever live as one of television's most iconic and beloved couples. And now, fans can watch the lactation consultant's arrival knowing Fischer shared a scene with both of her husbands — on screen and in real life.
