New Delhi,UPDATED: Apr 17, 2023 09:14 IST
The official launch of the iPhone 15 series is still months away, but we receive new information through leaks almost every week. Like last year's lineup, the new lineup will likely include four models: iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max (or Ultra). But like every year, new iPhones mean some old iPhones are being discounted. A new report from Tom's Guide suggests that Apple could have at least four phones after launch.

Currently, Apple officially sells the iPhone 14 series, iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 12 and iPhone SE (2022). The new report suggests that Apple may scrap the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 mini after the launch of the iPhone 15 series. That leaves the iPhone 13, iPhone SE (2022), iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.
The speculation seems largely accurate since Apple adopted a similar strategy after launching the iPhone 14 series last year. The company dropped the old Pro models to increase sales of new ones. It also dropped the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 mini.
Otherwise, the older existing models would see a price reduction of up to $100. In India, Apple could consider reducing the price by Rs 10,000. Here's how iPhones (for 128GB base storage) are currently priced:
- iPhone 14: 79.900 Rs
- iPhone 14 Plus: 89.900 Rs
- iPhone 14 Pro: 1.29.900 Rs
-iPhone SE: Rs 49.900
- iPhone 13: 69.900 Rs
- iPhone 12: Rs 59.900 (64 GB)
Meanwhile, Apple is expected to launch its first mixed-reality headset at the upcoming WWDC 2023 event on June 5. According to Apple analyst and Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple will introduce the device at WWDC 2023, although actual sales may take place at the end of the year. Gurman also added that the upcoming WWDC will see one of the biggest launches. Apple will reportedly debut new Macs with their own SoCs.
He adds that the company will not yet present PCs with M3 series chips. The new series includes a larger MacBook Air. Apple could also take the opportunity to introduce the Mac Pro with its own silicon SoC.
Otherwise, we can expect the usual from Apple at WWDC 2023. The company will introduce iOS 17 and iPadOS 17, which are expected to get minor updates - similar to iOS 16 and iPadOS 17. A similar story is expected with the upcoming macOS and TVOS. However, Gurman claims that WatchOS's interface will be completely overhauled.
