A pet expert shares the signs your cat views you as his mother.
Sara, a TikToker who takes the wheel@whyicanthavenicethings, posts videos of her cat to her 43,100 followers and recently revealed the two signs that yourturn-fect pet thinks you are theirsmew-of.
In a videowhich has amassed 2.2 million views and reached 270,800 likes, Sara explains that the first sign is whether your cat is your constant shadow.
“Following you around the house is one of the most common signals your cat has given you,” she said. “If your cat follows you to the bathroom, bedroom and kitchen, you and your cat have developed a deep bond.”
The cat lover said this behavior shows how much your pet likes to be near you and that your cat looks to you for love, companionship and clues about what's going to happen next.
Great Pet Care explains that when a cat seems to shadow you all the time, it means they share a close bond with you. The cat may also be curious, insecure, want attention, want to eat or want to play.
“You are the center of your cat's world and steward of all their resources, so it makes sense for your cat to follow you,” the site says.
Sara wrote onefollow up videofor the second signal, which is that you are your cat's "sleeping partner".
“Sleeping puts a cat in a very vulnerable position. Cats are very concerned about their safety and will not sleep if they are unsure of their surroundings,” she revealed.
“If your cat has imprinted on you, they may sit next to you and snuggle close to you. This means they trust you to protect them if a predator launches a nighttime attack,” Sara continued.
She added that your pet will relax knowing that you won't harm him while he's hibernating.
When it comes to who your pet wants to sleep with,Cats.comnotes that cats "sleep next to their favorite people, which makes them feel safe and secure."
“Sleeping with your cat can deepen the bond you share, as long as the interaction is positive for both the cat and the chosen one.”
