If you regularly have to deal with soap scum or other stubborn bathtub scum in your bathroom, look no further than your kitchen for your next cleaning hack? That's right: grab your dish soap and a broom, and you might be as pleasantly surprised as we were to learn that Dawn is apparently just as effective at dislodging bath scum as it is at removing all that dirt and grease from your dishes and pans. Moreover, this technique is both simple and fast!
It makes sense when you think about it. Since dish soap is designed to break down oils and remove grease and grime from your silverware and utensils, there's no reason why it shouldn't work on the greasy soap and human grease that builds up in your bathtub or shower!
Here you will find everything you need to do for a surprisingly thorough cleaning.
First, find some dish soap – seriously, almost any dish soap – and spray it over the affected areas of your bathtub. There is no need to leave it on as the work is done while you brush. That brings us to the second and final step. Take a broom or brush; scrub until foam, mold or grease disappears; turn on the shower; and rinse the bath clean. Voila! Your bath should be as good as new - and quickly!
One note: While a broom is extra convenient because you don't have to bend down to scrub—and it covers a larger area than a smaller brush—any scrub brush with plastic bristles will do the job well. Make sure you invest in a separate broom or brush from your regular household chores so you don't end up spreading mess from room to room. We like that$18 slanted broom, this is more sustainable$18 scrub brush, and this$7 joint brushfor precision cleaning if necessary.
Good cleaning in the bathroom!
