Where did it go!?
Man-oh-man, did that scare me the first time it happened!
One day I opened Excel and noticed that some of my favorite macros were not active when I used my keyboard shortcuts. What the hell was going on?
I then moved on to taking the next logical step and examining my VBA code. But there was one glaring problem, minePersonal.xlsbthe file was NOT in the VBA editor! I started to panic (but of course I was in the office, so it was an internal panic attack). Have all my favorite macros really just been deleted? I didn't back up anything and some took weeks to figure out! I was screwed!
Well, I'm here to tell you that there's a good chance they weren't deleted, because I later found out that my macros ended up being disabled during an Excel crash. The next section of this post details the steps I took to achieve thisPersonal.xlsbsave file and run again.
Steps to activate your personal macro workbook
- Navigate to your ExcelPossibilities(Filtab >>Possibilities)
- click onAdditionsmenu on the left side of the dialog box
- I thinkControldrop down menu, selectDisabled items(last choice)
- to electPersonal workbookone clickActivate
- Restart your Excel application
