Overall, these are the same prices we saw on the iPhone 14 Pro, which contradicts the rumors we'd heard about possible price increases on the iPhone 15 Pro. Apple offers a rangeiPhone 15 colorsHowever, at launch, as usual, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be available in a different range of shades than the standard iPhone 15.

Update (27/09): Since the release of the iPhone 15 Pro, many users have taken to the internet to report worrying overheating issues. It is believed that the phone's titanium design could be responsible for its poor cooling efficiency, and Apple is expected to roll out a fix via software updates soon. However,This fix will likely require Apple to limit the power of the phone's A17 Pro chipset.

Update (01/10): Apple has now done itentered the newssaying that overheating issues will be fixed in future software patches.

Apple has opted to give its iPhone 15 series the biggest design shake-up since the iPhone 12 launched in 2020. Specifically, the straight sides of the iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro have been replaced with curved iPhone 11-style sides, which on both the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are made of aerospace-grade titanium.

Apple says the move from stainless steel makes the iPhone 15 Pro stronger and lighter than its predecessor (the company's latest flagship weighs 191 grams, while the iPhone 14 Pro weighs 206 grams), and that the edges of the newer phone are even more be thinner.

Both the Dynamic Island and brushed glass back panels return from last year's device, and the iPhone 15 Pro is once again protected by Apple's Ceramic Shield, a transparent material that contains ceramic crystals for extra screen protection. The phone's glass back panel is now also removable, which means thatit is cheaper to repair iPhone 15 Pro than iPhone 14 Pro.

However, the main design changes are more functional than aesthetic. The traditional physical mute button has been replaced with an all-new Action button on the iPhone 15 Pro, which Apple says can be configured to trigger a variety of useful actions (similar to the Action button onApple WatchUltra).

Each iPhone 15 model also has a USB-C port, which replaces Apple's own Lightning port. USB-C is the latest universal standard for the wired connection of smart devices. Similar three-lens setup for the iPhone 14 Pro
Sensors have been improved

The iPhone 15 Pro does notwandering aroundtoo far removed from the predecessor's (admittedly excellent) three-sensor setup. The phone has the following three lenses: a 48 MP wide angle (24 mm, f/1.78), a 12 MP ultra wide angle (13 mm, f/2.2) and a 12 MP telephoto (77 mm f/2.8) with 3x zoom.

The main upgrade here is the addition of more focal lengths - Apple says "it's like having seven professional lenses in your pocket" - although the phone's 48MP main camera has also been updated, letting you take super high-resolution photos with even more more details and color.

Portrait mode has also been reviewed on the iPhone 15 Pro; you no longer need to manually switch to portrait mode. If your subject is a person, dog, or cat, the phone automatically captures depth information, so you can choose to view your image immediately as a portrait, with an artistic blur effect, or later in Photos app.

On the front, the iPhone 15 Pro has the same 12 MP selfie snapper as its predecessor.

The iPhone 15 Pro keeps up with the excellent 6.1-inch Super XDR of its predecessorOLEDscreen, with Apple's ProMotion technology – which varies the refresh rate between 10 Hz and 120 Hz depending on the content being displayed – also returning.

Apple claims you can get up to 23 hours of video playback with the iPhone 15 Pro, which is comparable to the battery life of its predecessor. We found this statement to be largely accurate in our review tests.

The move to USB-C on the iPhone 15 Pro now means you can charge your Mac or iPad using the same cable you use to charge your phone, and you can also share the charge between the iPhone and AirPods. Support for USB 3.6 on the iPhone 15 Pro also ensures faster data transfer speeds.

As for charging speeds, the iPhone 15 Pro can consume up to 20W and also supports wireless charging (includingnew Qi2 standard for wireless charging).
