I'm about to buy an ice cream maker - to try Nigella's recipes from "Forever Summer". The only ice cream maker I can find here has a capacity of 1 liter. I don't know if it's too small or not. It would help me a lot if you tell me how many liters of ice cream I get if Nigella writes that it is for 6-8 people, or 10-12 or 8 people. Thanks in advance! Kind regards, Suzana W

Unfortunately, ice cream servings can be a bit subjective, but in general it should be 2 to 3 scoops per day. person. A scoop is about 60 ml, so a recipe for 8 people will probably yield just under 1 liter or 4 cups.
An ice cream maker with a capacity of 1 liter should be sufficient, as it is at the higher end of capacity for the home versions of this equipment. This is equivalent to 1 liter (2 US pints), so make sure you have a suitable freezer container in which to store the ice cream after you've made it.
Some ice cream makers come with an extra inner can for making ice, and you may find that you can get better results if you add a small amount of clear liquor (such as vodka) into the space between the inner and outer cans. . alcohol helps cool the inner can faster (and since alcohol freezes at a much lower temperature than water, it doesn't freeze solid). However, check your owner's manual before doing this as models vary. You should also keep all your ice cream making equipment carefully clean, as the recipe may contain uncooked eggs and any traces left on the equipment could cause contamination when you make the next batch of ice cream.
The number of scoops of ice cream in one liter can vary depending on the size of the scoops and how densely the ice cream is packed into each scoop. However, a common estimate is that there are around 16 to 20 scoops of ice cream in a one-liter container.
Our answer. Unfortunately portions of ice cream can be a little subjective but generally it should be 2 to 3 scoops per person. A scoop is roughly 60ml or 1/4 cup so a recipe serving 8 people is likely to yield just short of 1litre, or 4 cups.
Ice cream, hand packed, in measured in units of volume for retail sale (quarts, pint, liters, etc) but typically government standards require a certain minimum weight to guard against loose packing.
1 litre of soft serve yields 10 cones with a gravity fed machine and up to 13 cones with a pump machine. One box would therefore yield between 400 and 520 cones depending on the machine and portion.

Gelato, Italy's gift to frozen desserts, is denser and creamier than regular ice cream. It's churned at a slower speed, resulting in less air incorporation. The intense flavours and silky texture make gelato a beloved treat worldwide.
While vanilla has reigned supreme as the world's favorite ice cream flavor for many years, a new report from the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) shows that it may be at risk of losing that position soon. So what other flavors rounded out the list?
As a result of recent updates to the Nutrition Facts label , some serving sizes on food labels may be larger or smaller than they were before (see Figure 2 below). For instance, a serving size of ice cream used to be 1/2 cup. Now it's 2/3 cup. A serving size of yogurt used to be 8 ounces.
Vanilla ice cream pairs perfectly with all desserts whilst also being an indulgent experience by itself. Our Madagascan vanilla ice cream is free from gluten, soya and egg as well as being made in a completely nut free factory and comes in a two litre tub, which provides approximately sixteen scoops.
