What if your iPhone stops receiving iOS updates?
You can continue using your device if your iPhone stops receiving software updates. You are only using an older iOS version and cannot use the latest features. You will still receive security updates, but not as often. This way you can still use your iPhone safely.
Why are certain iPhone models no longer supported?
Every year, new iPhone models get a more powerful processor, a better camera and all kinds of other technical improvements. To optimally support the increasingly powerful smartphones, they require a new software update every year. After about 6 months, the new software is made especially for the later models. They are therefore of no use for older models. The iPhone 6s from 2015 has an outdated chip that e.g. is not suitable for the latest iOS version
