I bought a refurbished Mac book crptapmk4n2llarb 2017 and need to return them as keys and make it impossible for me to enter my password as the keys that are stuck are the ones in use. I need to wipe the device and reset it to factory settings before I can return it. I've gotten instructions from the seller, watched YouTube videos and searched for information to help me, but nothing seems to work. I think it's running Catalina 10.15. and have an update for Big Sur but never download when I try to update, thought it was a memory issue. I think my account has been deleted, but I can't find iTunes or the general delete and rest everything options that I've read. I also tried the R command. NOTHING WORKS. Can someone please help me?

1. On your Mac, select the Apple menu> Reboot. When your Mac restarts, hold down the Command and R keys until the macOS Utilities window appears.
2. Select Disk Utility and then click Continue.
3. Select your startup disk on the left and then click Erase.
4. Click the Format pop-up menu and select oneAPFSofMac OS Extended format, enter a name, and then click Remove.
Important:Erasing the drive will delete all information from the drive. Make sure you back up the information you want to keep on an external device.
5. When the disk has been erased, select Disk Utility > Exit Disk Utility.
6. SelectReinstall macOS, click Continue and follow the onscreen instructions.
