This is a rough estimate of the amount of chocolate consumed per person per country. Switzerland stands out at the top, as it has done for a long time. What's interesting is not only the stark contrast between a country like Switzerland and China (or even India), which has vastly different populations and food cultures, but even between Switzerland and France, which are a close neighbor both physically and culturally. Surprisingly, people in Britain consume about a quarter of the amount that the Swiss do. This is interesting considering that it was the English who invented the chocolate bar as we know it today (but the Swiss, who you could say "perfected it"). This is just a snapshot of selected countries to compare the degree of variation in chocolate consumption, and should not be taken too seriously as this is a rough estimate at best.
