Can you store Switch games on multiple SD cards?
We recommend using a single microSD card with your Nintendo Switch console. If you run out of space, you can copy all the data to a larger microSD card. Remember itdownloadable software stored on multiple microSD cards cannot later be combined into a single microSD card.
Nintendo Switch™-console (HAC-001(-01))
32 GB of internal storage, part of which is reserved for system use. Users can easily expand the storage space with microSDHC or microSDXC cardsalso 2TB(sold separately). Used for charging or connecting to the Nintendo Switch dock.
Where is saved game data stored? On the Nintendo Switch, game save data is stored in the console's system memory. This does not change whether downloadable software or software from a game card is being played.Game save data cannot be saved or copied to a microSD card.
If you mainly play physical games and you don't think you buy too many big titles from the eShop, then 64GB should be enough for you. But if you're going all digital, a 256GB card will see you throughabout 35 full size games.
After inserting a compatible microSD card into your console, all future games downloaded and associated data will be saved to it except save files.
If you plan on downloading a lot of games, you'll probably want a high-capacity card, such as a 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB microSD card. You will be able to save more than enough games and they will load faster as they are higher performance cards. For average use, a 32 GB or 64 GB microSD card is sufficient.
Software downloaded to a microSD card on one system cannot be played on another system.Do not transfer data between multiple microSD cards, or switch your microSD card between multiple systems.
Store your most important games on the Nintendo Switch's built-in hard drive and you get an SD card for the restas an SD card loads data much faster than cartridges but not as fast as the internal storage.
You'll quickly run out of space if you plan on playing more than a few games, regardless of which Switch you have. We recommend a high capacity microSD card such as the Samsung EVO Plus 256GB, or if you plan on playing more games, the Samsung EVO Plus 512GB to ensure you have enough space for all the games you want.

The good news is that you have options!
The Nintendo Switch is suitable for these cards up to 2TB in size! That sounds great, but it turns out normal microSD cards don't go up to 2TB. It may be available in the future, butthe best you can do right now is a 1 TB card.
We highly recommend purchasing a 256 GB card. It has space to save a lot of saved data, screenshots and videos. Naturally,if you have all the games in the world and want to play them all in the blink of an eye, you'll want to look at something much bigger, like a 512GB card for maximum storage.
