According to a Minneapolis, Minnesota nutritionist, the first step to shrinking your waistline through fast food is to sideline the chips. In itself old news, we realize. But according to nutritionist Emily Field, feel free to swap your fritters for oneotherhamburger.

It's true. Ditch the fries and grab another burger for a better approach to health. The simple reason? Increasing your protein intake – thanks to the meat content of each burger – will keep you full longer, keep your blood sugar levels under control and make it easier to reach your daily calorie goal.
To put it into context, a McDonald's hamburger contains 250 kcal and 13 g of muscle-building protein, while a medium portion of fries contains 337 kcal, 3.3 g of protein and 42 g of carbohydrates, a macronutrient often associated with weight gain.
