A macro is a number of assignments that are used to automate a repeated task and can be performed when you have to perform the task.However, some macros can form a security risk by introducing viruses or malignant software on your computer.
Warning:Never activate macros in a Microsoft 365 -File, unless you know for sure that you know what these macros are doing and you want the functionality they deliver.You do not have to enable macros to edit the file.See for more info, seeProtect yourself against macro viruses.
Make a document that trusts to engage macros
If you see a security warning when you open a document or try to perform a macro, you can choose to make it a trusted document and a macros.This example is on an Excel workbook.

Tip:Instead of activating macros for each document, you can make a trusted place to save trusted documents. Microsoft 365 will then note them with the Trust Center. See for more information, seeAdd a trusted location, delete or change on Microsoft Office.
Change the Macro settings in Trust Center
Macro settings are located in the Trust Center.But if your device is managed by your work or school system administrator, there may be someone to change settings.
Important:When you change your macro settings in the trust center, they only point to the Microsoft 365 app that you are currently using.The macro settings do not change for all your Microsoft 365 apps.

Use this option to switch on macros in a case - -case basis.

Switch off all macros, except digitally signed macrosMacros are eliminated and security warnings appear when there are no -signing macros.But if the macro is digitally signed by a trusted publisher, the macro just runs.If the macro is signed by a publisher, you have no confidence in the possibility.To activate the signed macro and trust the publisher.
