You can recover recently deleted photos and videos still in your Trash. Items that are permanently deleted cannot be recovered.
Backed up photos and videos remain in the trash for 60 days. Photos and videos that are not backed up will remain in the Recycle Bin for 30 days. If you are missing images and videos, check your trash.Learn how to enable backups.

If your missing item is archived, you can unarchive it so it appears in your Google Photos library.

Recover photos and videos
Important:You can only recover photos and videos if they are still in your Recycle Bin.
- Go to on your computerphotos.google.com/login.
- Click on Trash on the left
.
- Place the cursor on the photo or video you want to recover.
- Click Select
.
- If the photo or video is not in your trash, it may be permanently deleted.
- Click Restore at the top right
to recover. Your photo or video will return in:
- Albums that featured it
- Google Photos account
Not all deleted photos and videos can be recovered
Important:
- If you are inactive in Google Photos for two years or more, your content may be deleted.Learn more about Google Photos' inactivity policy.
- If you have exceeded your storage limit for two years or more, your content may be deleted.Learn more about how your Google Storage works.
If a deleted photo or video is not in the Recycle Bin, you cannot recover it. You cannot recover a photo or video if:
- You moved it to the trash more than 60 days ago.
- You moved it to the trash and then emptied your trash.
- You have permanently deleted it from your trash.
