Truett Cathyfounded and opened the first Chick-fil-A®restaurant in 1967 in Atlanta'sGreenbriar Mall, one of the first indoor shopping centers in the Southeast. Back then it was the originalChick-fil-A®Chicken sandwichwere sold for 59 cents, and team members wore ascots, candy-striped aprons, and "soda" hats and ties. Measuring just 30 square meters (about the size of a two-car garage), the restaurant pioneered the modern food court.
Chick-fil-A Greenbriar Mall proudly served the Atlanta community for over 56 years. The restaurant closed in May 2023, but its legacy and influence can be seen and felt in the more than 2,800 Chick-fil-A restaurants in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.
