IMO it's bizarre.
If I have a silo, Wild Grass hay is added to it, but Wheat hay is added to the player's inventory.
When the silo is full, no wild grass hay is collected at all, even if the grass is mowed :-(
When I cut wild grass with a sword, no hay is produced (although when I cut weeds with a sword, fiber is collected).
I'm confused.
I propose to make the mechanisms more flexible and clear:
1. If we have a silo and it is not full, then all the hay must go there, regardless of grass/wheat and scythe/sword.
2. If we don't have a silo or it is full, all the hay must go to the player's inventory.
And one more point about hay. Rice also has hay, but not in the game. Maybe it should be there?

Good thoughts.
BTW: There was already a discussion somewhere about upgrading silos. There was also a suggestion to have an unfinished silo from the start, to let beginners know that they should collect hello before purchasing animals. Otherwise it will be difficult and expensive in winter!
Your idea is not bad. I like it. It's okay to have this...
But sometimes people want to use grass as decoration…
Having grass would go up

@Lassez_Faire_Farmingfood affects quality. Cows that eat wild okra pass on the proteins that okra gives, that is, mucus in the milk. Not to mention it will taste bad

Imagine selling it to Pierre's shop, people will tell me how delicious it is.
I think CA needs to fix these NPC dialogues....
Harvey told me he bought invalid eggs from Pierre. He also told me how much he loved invalid fried eggs.

Hey, don't knock it until you try itto let your soul slowly dissolve from the inside of your gastrointestinal tract over the course of a thousand years.

IIRC, the way hay currently works is at least partially due to inheritance. In previous versions of the game you could only win hay by leaving grass, so the silo restrictions made a little more sense (but still a bit weird once you figured it out). I imagine with a limited supply it would be a bit of a pain to produce a lot of hay on day 1 if you can't have a silo yet, so that could be part of it.
But since the changes with wheat and haymaker and all, it might be nice to at least have a switch option for hay collection without a silo. However, since it is part of the original version, it may be more difficult to adjust depending on what else is associated with this legacy.

We can sell hay like we sell fiber on day 1. In the same way.

Only you get nothing (0g) from hay. Fiber gives you 1 gram. But yeah, that would make more sense.
