The "Erase All Content and Settings" button is only available on Apple Silicon and T2 Macs. For other Mac models, perform the factory reset in recovery mode.
How to completely reset a MacRecovery mode, you are obliged to do soerase the startup diskand thenReinstall macOS. Please note that this will erase all data on your Mac, so be sure to backup your important files before taking action. Once you're done, follow these steps:
- Turn off your Mac.
- Press the Power button and then immediately press and hold the Command + R keys until you see the Apple logo.
- Click Disk Utility > Continue.
- Select Macintosh HD and press the (-) button.
- Click on 'Delete volume group'.
- Click View > Show all devices.
- Select the drive (Apple SSD) and click Remove.
- Name the drive Macintosh HD.
- Maintain the standard format and schedule.
- Click Remove.
- Exit Disk Utility.
- Click "Reinstall macOS" and continue.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall the operating system.
