Use the steps on this page to resolve the following issues on your phone:
- Does not turn on
- Provide a black or blank screen
- Turns on but does not charge
- Turns on but turns off immediately
Press and hold the power button
First try pressing and holding the power button of the phone for 5-7 seconds. Usually this will restart a phone.
Troubleshoot your cable, power adapter, outlet, and case
- Try charging another device with your power adapter and cable.
- Make sure the cable is properly connected to the adapter and to your phone.
- Check that there is nothing stuck in the port of your phone, such as dust or lint.
- Try charging your phone using a different cable or power adapter.
Troubleshoot your battery charge
Connect your phone with a working cable, charger and wall socket then wait for a minute.
- If you see the battery icon, your phone is turned off and charging. You can restart immediately.
- If you see a red light, your battery is completely discharged. If the red light is flashing, there is not enough power to turn on. Charge your phone for at least 30 minutes before restarting it.
- If you don't see a battery icon or red light after plugging in your phone, the problem might be with your screen.

Troubleshoot your screen
- Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds.
- Wait about. 2 minutes.
- Let your phone ring. You can call it from another phone or use Find My Device.Learn how.

Troubleshooting with advanced steps
Option 1: Solve the problem by connecting to a computer
- Make sure your computer is turned on and connected to a power source.
- Connect your phone to your computer's USB or USB-C port with a working cable.
- Wait about 10-15 minutes.
- Disconnect the cable from your phone and reconnect it within 10 seconds.
- If you see a battery icon within a minute, your phone is turned off and charging.
- Charge your phone for at least 30 minutes.
- Press and holdCurrentuntil your phone restarts. You may need to press Restart
.

Option 2: Troubleshoot phone button issues
With your phone connected, press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power button at the same time for at least 20 seconds.
If you see a red light, your battery is completely discharged.
- Charge your phone for at least 30 minutes.
- Press and hold the power button for a few seconds.
- Tap Restart on your screen.
If you see an Android robot and the word 'Begin" with an arrow around it:
- Press the Volume Down button until you see the 'Turn Off' option. Press the power button to select "Off".
- Charge your phone for at least 30 minutes.
- Press and hold the power button for a few seconds.
- Tap Restart on your screenor press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds until your phone restarts.
