How to download or re-download content from the Nintendo 3DS eShop (2024)
Important
From 5:00 PM Pacific Time on Monday, March 27, 2023, it will no longer be possible to purchase software or DLC from Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS. If you previously had digital content (games) on your Nintendo 3DS system that you are now unable to download due to the closure of the limited eShop in Latin America and the Caribbean in 2020,this information may be useful.
Remark
If update data is available, it will automatically be downloaded with your software.
Once deleted, Nintendo eShop purchases can be re-downloaded free of charge.
Downloaded items will appear as gifts in the HOME menu. Once they are completely downloaded, you can tap on them to access the software.

To redownload the game, access Nintendo eShop using the Nintendo Account that originally purchased the game, select your user icon in the top-right corner to access your Account Information and highlight Redownload.
Even after March 27, 2023, and for the foreseeable future, it will still be possible to redownload games and DLC and receive software updates on Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS family of systems.
Open the Nintendo eShop with the Nintendo Account that purchased the game. Select the icon in the upper-right corner to access your Account Information. Highlight Redownload on the left side of the screen. A list of titles you've purchased will appear.
Sorry if this has been asked before: if I buy a game on the 3DS eshop and don't have time to download it, can I still download it after the shop closes? A new feature for the HOME Menu is available from system version 6.0. 0-0E onwards: You can create a backup of save data for compatible downloadable software. To back up save data, select a title on the HOME Menu, touch the arrow at the bottom of the Touch Screen, then select SAVE DATA BACKUP.
From the Nintendo 3DS HOME Menu, select "Save Data Transfer Tool".Follow the on-screen instructions carefully and tap the transfer button when ready to transfer the save data. Do not turn the power off or remove the Nintendo 3DS Game Card during the save data transfer process.
