Format a microSD card (2024)

Important

• INsystem updatemay be necessary to format a microSD card on Nintendo Switch.
• After formatting, the information on the microSD card cannot be recovered. If screenshots or videos are saved on the microSD card, back up the information to a computer first.
• If downloadable software is stored on the microSD card,it can be downloaded againusing the same Nintendo Account it was purchased from.

Complete these steps

1. Select from the HOME menuSystem settings.

   

2. Scroll through the options on the left and selectSystem.
3. Scroll through the options on the right and selectFormateringsindstillinger.
   • If prompted, enter your parental control PIN.
4. to electFormat the microSD card, AndGet on.
   • The following message appears: "All data on the microSD card will be deleted. Data cannot be recovered after deletion. Continue?"
5. Select to continueFormat. The console will then restart.
