You can configure the WAN port on the router to use as a LAN port. This is useful if you are using the router in repeater mode, where the WAN port is not required. The result is that you can still have a LAN port.

Specially forGL-AR300M-Lite, it has only one Ethernet port that works as a WAN by default. Therefore, you need to connect to it via Wi-Fi. But once you plug it in, you can change the WAN port to LAN so you can connect to it via an Ethernet cable.
