Cast your cares on the Lord, and He will uphold you; He will never let the righteous be moved(Psalm 55:22), I read my Bible this morning with my heart clenched in fear as we have prayed day after day about a situation we have been going through.
![Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you (5) Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you (5)](https://i0.wp.com/i0.wp.com/www.theycallmeblessed.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/wsi-imageoptim-Cast-Your-Cares-On-the-Lord-683x1024.png?resize=683%2C1024)
I'm so glad I did itto give God the first moments of my dayand that this morning I opened my Bible to this Psalm! It's been hard for me lately dealing with so many things that are out of our control. I needed this word to sustain me today.
If it feels so hard to push your worries onto him...
“Lord, I can no longer carry this burden on my shoulders?” I said in prayer, more like crying in pain. I'm throwing it all at you, please take it! My heart is heavy today and I need you. I know I can trust you with my problems because you care about me.
"I'm throwing it all on you, please take it! My heart is heavy today and I need you. I know I can trust you with my problems because you care about me."
Worry and anxiety have exhausted me these days amid so much uncertainty. I can't tell you exactly what we go through when you are part of oursBible Journalists Clubyou would know.
But I know God is still in control and my life is in His hands!
I remember how he saved me.
He is the same God who saved me when I was dying of cancer sixteen years ago, who gave me three beautiful children when the doctors told me I couldn't have any. He provided for us miraculously again and again, as we faithfully served him in every land he sent us to.
God has not changed! He's still the same! I know I can throw my worries on him!
Cast your cares on the LORD, and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be moved. Psalm 55:22
As I continued to ponder these words, certainty began to grow in my heart. I looked back on everything he has done for us and there is no way he won't do it again this time!

Why I know you can cast your worries on God too...
His word is true. He is not a man that he should lie (Num. 23:19). He loves you and he cares for you!
“Cast all your cares on him, becauseHe cares about you. 1 Petrus 5:7″
Peter tells us that we can cast ALL our cares on God, not just the extra, not just some of it, but all of it. And he explains why: He cares!
God is a good father. He cares, He protects, He provides, He supports and He even carries our burdens daily!
Blessed be the Lord who bears our burden daily, God who is our salvation. Selah. Psalms 68:19
He has not left you and will never leave you. Your problem is not too big for a God who is all powerful! El Shaddai is He. In Hebrew, El Shaddai literally means God, it is enough, sufficient... and isn't it? Yes, that's him!
He is more than enough to meet ALL my needs and yours.
When you need healing, He is your healer, when you need provision, He is your provision, when you need deliverance, He is your deliverer.
He is your savior, your redeemer, your Abba Father. What a mighty God!
How you too can cast your cares on the Lord...
1 – Call him.
As for me, I will call on God, and the Lord will save me. In the evening, morning and afternoon I cry with fear, and he hears my voice. Psalm 55:16-17
He will always hear your prayers! His ears are inclined to hear the cries of his beloved children.
“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things that you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3
Not only does He want to answer your prayers, but He also wants to reveal to you great and hidden things that you do not know!
2 – Trust him.
Commit your way to the Lord, trust Him also, and He will do it. Psalm 37:5
Friend, we can trust a God who does not change. He remains the same and the miracles He has performed in our lives in the past show us that He can and will do it again. He is faithful!
“God who reigns from of old, who changes not.” Psalm 55:19
3 – Give it to him.
Come to me, all you who toil and bear heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
Many see this verse as an invitation. I see it as an offer. Jesus calls us to come to Him! He wants to remove this heavy yoke from our shoulders, He wants us to entrust our burden to Him, and He wants to take it from us.
4 – Rust in Hem.
Instead of continuing to carry this burden alone, He wants us to let it go! When we let go, He gives us His rest. A complete rest. A real rest for our soul.
Verily, MY SOUL FINDS REST IN GOD; MY SALVATION COMES FROM HIM.
HE IS MY ROCK AND MY SALVATION; HE IS MY FORTRESS, I DO NOT WANT TO BE SHOCKED.
How long are you going to attack me? Would you all throw me down – this crooked wall, this tottering fence?
They intend to throw me down from my high place; they enjoy lies. With their mouth they bless, but in their heart they curse. YES, MY SOUL, FIND REST IN GOD; MY HOPE COMES FROM HIM.
He is indeed my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be moved. My salvation and my honor depend on God; HE IS MY MIGHTY ROCK, MY REFUGE.
Verse 62:1-7
Are you ready to cast your worries on him?
Let's pray.
I have given him my burden today and I will not take it back. Will you come with me and give yours to him too?
Father, I pray that my sister who is reading this now will trust you to take care of her problems because I know you care about her!
Abba, thank you that she can call on you knowing that her prayers will never be in vain, but that you will hear her cry and answer her in your perfect timing.
Thank you for loving her with everlasting love! Thank you for being El Shaddai, the God who is more than enough, all-sufficient in our lives!
Jesus, as she prays this prayer, take her burden and replace it with your peace that passes all understanding, in your name, I pray!
Amen.

I don't know you, but I want to thank you. I've been having a lot of worries lately and googled "how to cast your worries on the Lord" and your site came up first with Psalm 55. I went there before reading what you wrote and OH MY! I was sobbing, I read it from the passion translation and felt like it was literally my own words, my heart written out, how I've been feeling lately. I want you to know that your yes to the Father and what you poured out from your heart in this blog has brought me into a sweet encounter with Jesus! Thank you! May the Lord bless you more and more as you continue His work. ❤️🙏🏼

God bless you richly ma'am. I am truly blessed by your words of encouragement about taking your concerns to him.
Yes, Jesus never fails, even if it takes time. The Bible said, “wait for it, for it will surely come.”

I know God led me here today after reading 1 Peter 5:7 and then googling “how to cast all my cares on the Lord.” I am going through the most devastating and heartbreaking thing I have ever experienced in my 56 years and your heartfelt prayer at the end touched my heart. While I may never understand how this could have happened to me, I have a glimmer of hope that He can help me through this if I trust Him. Thank you very much for your obedience!

Thank you very much for this website! Trusting Him and entrusting our concerns to Him has never really 'clicked' for me. My fear was great. I prayerfully searched for answers and the first thing I came across was this site. The way you expressed everything was so inspiring and I could feel your heart in your writing. I felt the Lord's love and I understood what it means to focus our care on Him.
I am also so grateful for your prayer at the bottom of this page... What a sincere and true sister you are in Christ. Through your writing I felt you praying for me and I felt the Spirit.
Thank you for being a great example of love.Answer

Yes!!! This topic has come up with me several times over the past few weeks! If only we would go to Him first and give everything to Him first, before the worries and concerns would come to us!!! We would feel so much better! Sometimes I know I should give him something, but I just don't want to! A few weeks ago I had a little crisis and I said, "God, I don't want to worry about this, you are in control, you can handle anything! I don't even want to worry about it!" He worked out every little detail perfectly!!! I will pray for you! I'm also sending this to a friend who really needs it right now! They were blinded by life and don't know what to do. Thanks for this message!

Thank you for sharing your heart and these verses. This year I have had a new job that has put me in a place where I constantly feel discouraged and cry out to God daily why He put me here. I know He always has a plan that is bigger than we can see or know, but lately I have been plagued with my own worries and distant from God. I was on the verge of a breakdown when I came across your blog today, which gave me exactly the reminder I needed to hear for our big meeting tomorrow. No matter what happens, I am in the Lord's care and He has planned my steps for me. Thank you!

Yes!! We all do, Lea!
We spend so much time worrying and being anxious, as if we could actually solve every problem on our own, but we can't!
With this particular situation that we are going through right now, I couldn't even sleep properly. It took me a day to just cast my cares on the Lord, pray, praise, write down His words and all the fear, anxiety and worry was gone!!
Not only that, but the next day we received good news after good news, because then God was truly in control, and He did His work without us getting in His way. 😉
He is good!Answer
