The college football world is buzzing with excitement.

After more than a decade of hiatus, EA Sports' hit college football video game series returns this summer with a July 19 release date. We got ours last Fridayfirst real look at in-game footagewhen the reveal trailer was released, and while it didn't feature any raw gameplay, it showed off some of the traditions that make the college game so special.

With how many different Power Four and Group of Five traditions are shown in this short trailer, there will surely be quite a few more in the full game. But for now, here are 14 great college football traditions confirmed in College Football 25.

Alabama turnover championship belt

Several programs have variations on turnover celebrations, perhaps most prominently in Miami's championship chain. Alabama's version is a championship belt, officially known as the "Ball Out Belt", which debuted in 2015. In addition to this version, the game also appears to include several turnover games.

The Illibuck Trophy

We also know that there will be several rivalry trophies in the game, including the Illibuck Trophy, which goes to the winner of the Ohio State-Illinois rivalry. It originally used a live turtle as a trophy when the tradition began in 1925, but it switched to a carved wooden model when the turtle died the following year.

Paul Bunyan's axe

Paul Bunyan's Ax, awarded to the winner of the historic Wisconsin-Minnesota rivalry, has been in service since 1948, when it replaced the former rivalry trophy known as the Slab of Bacon. Fun fact: The plate went missing in 1943 and remained lost for more than 50 years until it was found in a storage room at Camp Randall Stadium in 1994.

Howards Rock

A piece of quartzite from Death Valley, California, given to former coach Frank Howard, Howard's Rock has graced Clemson's Memorial Stadium since 1967, with players touching the rock before running down the hill from the end zone to one of the most iconic field entrances in college football. . As legend has it, Howard once told his players, "If you want to give me 110 percent, you can rub that rock. If you don't, keep your dirty hands off it."

Notre Dame's 'Play Like a Champion Today'-skilt

Another extremely iconic entry to the field seen in earlier versions of EA's college football video game, Notre Dame's current "Play Like a Champion Today" sign was installed in 1986 under former coach Lou Holtz and has since become synonymous with the program. .

Boston College's most famous tradition also stems from the team's field entrance, where players touch a statue of an eagle as they leave the locker room and onto the field at Alumni Stadium.

Similar to Boston College's entrance to the field, Florida players hit a statue of an alligator head as they storm the field at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, aptly named The Swamp, with the slogan "only Gators come out alive."

LSU's 'Win Bar'

Meanwhile, at LSU's Death Valley, Tigers players tap a crossbar formerly used in the north side goalposts from 1955-84 with the word "Win!" painted on them as they enter the stadium. It's called "The Win Bar" and each player must press it while entering the field.

Cowboy statue from Wyoming

While most of the featured traditions came from Power Four programs, the group of five saw some love when Wyoming's War Memorial Stadium was shown in the trailer, with snowfall as a bonus. Wyoming players touch a Cowboy statue modeled after a photo on which the team's logo is also based.

Bevo has been performing on the Texas sidelines since 1916, and the current mascot is the 15th Bevo to do the job.
